Default Dream Works SC

Sent an e-mail to Dream Works Racing and got a response. Besides me, has anyone visited their site and looked at "News/Events"? Showing a price of $6200 not including our 5% discount.

They were at the ATCO meet talking to everyone and giving out T-shirts. A bunch of people were talking to him, I didn't get a chance to. They should have some good info.

I e-mailed some questions to them. I was wondering on the stage 2 A/T supercharger(460 crank HP) It gives 12lbs psi of boost, but what is engine management & is it fuel enriched only or does it also retard the spark timing? Does anyone here know?

Dream Works came back and gave me a price on the "Stage 2" in the mid to upper $5k. Why not just give me a price on "Stage 1" that has an output of 400 HP. Not really sure I want to do the "internal engine modifications" as they suggests for "460 crank HP" and "12 PSI" of boost.

Were the t-shirts real, or just rendering of T-shirts?

You guys crack me up. I'll tell you this...the DW supercharger is a real product. Unless some kind of major catastrophe happens, this product will be released. That's all I'm saying.

Oh, yeah, we figure it will be released SOMETIME.

We're assuming it will be released around the same time major auto manufacturers start releasing flying cars.

Can you turbocharge a flying car??

Seriously though i got some inside information that this supercharger is almost done and will be released sometime between april 30th 2004 and december 24th 3078.

I hope I havent offended anybody by releasing this classified information but i just wanted to let everybody know some exact release dates as you all know these other dates have just been pure speculation.

Hahaha...I hear you, I hear you.

You have to realize though, that in manufacturing it is a never-ending stream of supply-side issues. Your vendors miss their dates, something unexpected pops up, etc. Hell if you can't source one bolt, you can't make the product! Honestly, I'd rather see someone take their time and put in the legwork and R&D. Otherwise, you see a bunch of problems that can take a company down. Just think of all of issues with some of the other products on this board that could have been avoided if someone did their homework before rushing to market.

i totally understand where your coming from but, to say that it would be release jan. 1. then push it back to feb. then mar. and not come on the boards and even post a pic of the kit on a car. come on now you much understand where some of the guys are coming from. i would love to get the kit and would like for it to run flawless but, don't have people thinking that it would be out 5 months ago and not hear from you anymore. nick hasn't posted on the board about the sc in who knows when. they can take however long needed to make a good product but, at least keep us informed since it was supposed to come out 5 months ago. that's all i think everyone wants.

Exactly what Damen said. If there are delays that's fine, but at least post one picture of the kit on a car so people know they're not full of ****. That would at least shut us up and have us anxiously waiting. Dreamworkes is unheard of and don't have a big name for themselves so they have to prove themselves to everybody still. Greddy, PE, JWT and some of the other well known companies can just say their kit is coming out and everybody will believe it. But they also posted pics. So did SSR Engineering, Vortech, and ATI. I am trying to hold off until I see the JWT kit but it's getting harder and harder every day. I keep reading everybody else's posts and I'm dying to get something on my car.

Geez, is this sham still going on? I've been hearing about this thing for the better part of a year, and have not seen one iota of relevant evidence to support the existance, let alone the development of this mythical SC

According to the people that were talking to them at Atco, they said they had a unit installed on a 350Z but didn't bring it to the 350Z meet for some reason? I guess the fact that there were only going to be ~200 350Zs there was not worth the effort. In addition they also mentioned that they had already sold ~60 SCs for 350Zs in the Ukraine! Who would have guessed that there were even 60 350Zs in the Ukraine!

Off Topic:
Zspeed350, hopefully you can make the Cape Cod Meet. As usual, I lost your email address.
J Ritt Assuming you know what I'm talking about, great job on that Superblack 350Z last week! Thanks.

I hear you guys...honesty and the sharing of info is the best policy IMO...definitely true.
I just wanted you guys to understand about missing the dates, etc. Before I had my current position, I worked in the service industry for 5 years (marketing research). The only limitation at that job was my time...I worked until I figured out the problem, got it done, etc. Manufacturing is FAR different though. You depend on a whole chain of people for the simplest little things...many, many areas for problems to arise, delays, etc. Hopefully Nick will share some info. I'll see if I can dig up some news on this one.
Also, as a manufacturer I am sometimes hesitant to share info on the boards. 1. A million people who don't know the inside story call you a liar, etc. 2. They dog you incessantly while you're trying to get other things done. 3. When you give them an answer that they don't want to hear, they publicly try to crucify you, get angry, or blame you that something out of your control has changed since you last shared info. Unfortunatley, I think people can be a bit too brutal on the boards because they feel that they are completely anonymous. In reality, the internet is as real as place as any. I've probably met 3 dozen people from this board alone. I'm just trying to give some perspective from someone on the other side of this type of situation. Sometimes, listening to all of the naysayers just wears you down, and I think this may be one of those times for DreamWorks. I understand the frustration though...we all want the same thing...nice fast Z's...and it's sometimes painful to wait for one!

Anyone2U,
I'm glad you like them. When the car pulled out, I just remember thinking to myself..."oh my god does that look nice!" Now I'm wanting some rear brakes!
