Default Spring Z Meet - Cape Cod - May 8th

SPRING Z MEET - DINE AND DRIVE

WHEN: Saturday, May 8th (raindate: Saturday, May 15th)

WHERE: Cape Cod (see below for directions)

WHAT TIME: 10am at meeting area

THE PLAN:

* We'll be meeting in a parking area on Route 6 where we'll be able to hang out for a while, look at each others cars, etc.

* A contest! We'll be having a contest where everyone will judge the cars in attendence. There will be different categories so everyone has a chance at winning - whether you have mods galore (Roger), some mods, or stock.

* We'll be having lunch at the meeting area (seafood, burgers, hot dogs, etc.)

* Then it's time for a cruise!! We'll be taking a scenic route along the beautiful seaside and hopefully stopping for some pics along the way.

I'm getting some items together for "door prizes" so hopefully we'll have some cool goodies for ya! *I may have to charge a small fee for each raffle ticket to cover costs, but it won't be much.**

DIRECTIONS TO THE MEETING AREA: our meeting area is marked with the red star. Anyone coming from RI, CT, NJ, etc., and for most parts of MA, would head toward the Bourne Bridge. The road leading to the base of the Bourne Bridge is 495. At the intersection of 195 and 495 South, the road actually changes "names" to Route 25 (and then Route 28).

Big thank you to Roger for the idea of the meeting place and for putting together the directions

So mark the date on your calendar and join us for a day at the Cape - Z style!

Put me down as a maybe, I'm not sure as to my car situation in May.

Hopefully, it will be a nice Silver or superwhite TT instead of my black 2+2.

I'm definitely still in...thinking about this meet is giving me a major case of spring fever.

Any new suggestions on possible cruising routes? I'm open to just about anything....

Has anyody given any thought to special events we could have at the meeting point? I was thinking maybe we could do some kind of a juried z-car judging like we had at the CT meet last July. It would give everyone a great opportunity to show off all those mods they worked so hard on in the garage over the winter.

I dunno, Roger's car might be tough to beat when it comes to mods.

If we have a turnout of at least 15 cars I think a contest might be kinda fun. We can have different categories in order to include those who have stock cars. I'll modify the first post and add it because that would be a fun little event. Thanks for reminding me!

No problem....just make sure to include a category for stock Z-cars so that I can finally have a shot at winning something.

Roger's car is definitely hot and will be tough to beat but there are some others out there that are awesome as well. I'm sure Rick (spydr) will come and he's quietly turning his car into a beast and Gerald's going nuts with his car as well. Both of these guys are not on the list but I'm sure if they're free they'll be there.

Hi Guys,

As of now I should be able to make it!

See the old thread for another great suggestion for a meet in the Boston area (Marina Bay/Wollosoton Beach area). Don't feel like re-typing

Here's a suggestion on some prize categories and the awards for our unmodified class:
1. Dirtiest dip stick - quart of oil
2. The most wheel break dust - a new sponge
3. Best oil change sticker - a pair of work gloves so you can change it yourself the next time.
4. Highest mileage - a can of STP oil treatment

(Of course I am just kidding, or am I?)

For people coming from Boston or points north or west, want to meet up somewhere and drive down? There is a shopping center that has a Best Buy and Bed Bath and Beyond right off Rt 3 about 15-20 minutes south of Boston. Forgot the exact name.

Great suggestions, Vic! Writing them down and adding them to my list. Thanks!!

JC - Sure, I'm up for meeting there. Rt. 3 is easier for me to get to than 495. We'll fine tune plans as the date approaches.
