Is it worth it ?? *Long Post*
Wassup guys, i have a few questions about putting turbo in my car and wanted to know if you guys can help me out. Well first of all i own a g35 coupe 6mt. And i was wondering for all the guys that put in turbo in your 350z/g35 arent you guys worried about the warrenty being voided from the factory because if one thing goes wrong then you would have to pay lots of money to fix it.. does greddy offer a warrenty for the TT ?? and since i own a g35 will i get the same amount of hp/tq as the 350z guys are getting and will it be okay for the car to be daily driven ? what's a safe amount of boost i can give me car and how much hp/tq is expected with that amount of boost?.Do i really need a FMIC for the TT if i dont get one is it bad?? And i heard that if you put in turbo that the car's "motor life" is cut by half of what it should last is that true ? because i plan on having this car for awhile because my parents got it for my HS Graduation so until i can afford my own car this is going to be my car. I am just mostly worried about my warrenty being voided from the factory and the car always "shutting down". Should i just wait until the warrenty goes away ?? thanks for helping me guys
in my opinion, if your parents bought you this car and it is your only car, then perhaps you should wait until you can afford any repairs *knock on wood*... have a buffer zone ... maybe pay your parents back half and then go modding... and be thankful your parents are so awesome to get you such a nice car straight out of high school..
typically, if you're seriously about to drop $6k+ for a forced induction kit, you'd better be prepared for the other maintenance costs. its not just repairing something that might break, its the constant oil changes, tune ups what not. having a beater car to drive around while your main car is in the shop is a good idea too.
you can daily drive a 22 psi car if you wanted to. as long as your car is tuned properly, i dont think you should have any problems...
just take the regular Maintenance intervals and cut off 2k miles from it.. change your oil often, make sure all your fluids/ hoses/ belts are in good condition, and thats it.
as for that question about running W/O an intercooler.. not the best idea... if you can't afford $1k for an IC... wait.. and do it right the first time around... its definately better to have one, and it will keep your engine running better than w/o one.
read up on the subject- goto Amazon.com and look up Corky Bell's Turbocharging book.. lots of good info...
hope that helps.

I agree with Cheston under those circumstances. Plus, man I couldn't imagine myself at that age with a STOCK G35 and the trouble I'd get into. I wonder how fast I'd wrap that thing around a telephone pole or roll it with 350+whp.
IMO, stick with bolt-ons, rims, stereo, suspension, and try and keep that warranty as long as possible. Once you get to a age/mileage point, you'll know whether that pesky warranty is worth it or not.
Good luck either way and I hope you know you're one lucky SOB.

Envious of the TT guys?
Dude, your parents gave you a G35 for a HS Grad Present..
How Envious is that?? I am 22, already have a B.S.E.E. and am still saving my chips so that I can put enough down on a 350z so that my payments will be low enough to give me room for mods(*grin*)
Your car was free begin with....
Well, they say that you always want more than what You have.
Cheers and good Luck Friend..
