Ati-procharger Or Vortech?????
I have heard the procharger is alot better supercharger. It is self contained and does not need the oil changed every so often. So why are so many people getting the Vortech supercharger?

Use the following words in your search: Procharger, Timing, Kaboom

First- having the oil come from the oil pan is a better solution, cooler, etc. when you change the engine oil, your changing the blower oil. Yes the ATI is a easier install, but you get out of it what effort you put into it. Self contained oil is not as good as the engine oil period as far as cooling and break down goes.
Second- The vortech comes with a GREAT fuel and timing solution. The ATI comes with a micky mouse slider fuel control and no-timing solution.
Third - Yes the ATI kit comes with 360rwhp but is not safe from the factory, but the vortech can reach 390rwhp and still be safe with 1 hour of dyno tuning via laptop, or better yet get a AEM wideband and do it yourself.
Fourth - Vortech reputation
fifth- My opinion - I LOVE MY VORTECH and would do it over and over again.
PEAS!

That is some good info.I did not know that when you change the car oil,you are also changing the oil for the blower.Looks like I will be going with the Vortech.I have heard there have been alot of problems with the ATI procharger.

I choose the Vortech kit because of 1) the constantly refreshed oil supply, 2) laptop tunablility via the R4 software and 3) lower initial cost. I still think that the ATI kit is a good kit.

You really only can hear the Vortech in the lower RPM range, which sounds like a quiet jet, and it's not nearly as loud as the other centrifugal compressors. Once you go pass the 1700 range the noise dies out.

I have had my Vortech on for 5 days now, and love it!
The car runs brilliantly, just as smooth as stock, but with so much more oomph!
Sounds like I'm as happy as you Fluidz!

Not to compare apples to oranges but my friend had a Procharger SC-1 on his Mustang and blew it up at the track. Procharger said he was over-driving the SC-1 by running too small of a pulley but then decided to upgrade him to the DR-1 for a small fee. He switched to the DR-1 and blew it up less than a week later while tuning on the dyno. He is now running the Vortec
supercharger and has had no problems in the last year and a half!
His last dyno recorded 670 rwhp and he is a frequent flyer at the local drag strip running a conservative but consistent 10.40 e.t.
