I'm sure it works fine though, it's just the principle that makes me chuckle.

That just strikes me as kinda funny. I mean, you take in air from the front, compress it and heat it in the S/C, run the air through the IC to cool it off, and then that "cooling" air that came through the IC gets sent back into the Vortech. I mean, you're sucking in your own heat to have to cool it off again! (to use that heated cooling air again... ad infinitum)

No, he means that the air that passed through the IC to cool the intake charge is the same air that is getting taken up in through the air filter. (in that placement.)
Hey zimbo, post some pics please. I'm gonna be installing soon, and I'd like to figure this out before I start.

Here's the idea... some sort of 3.5" tubing from the mouth of the turbine down in into the area where a CAI filter would go. The filter they put on the end of the tubing is a 7" long K&N filter. Sorry I don't have any pictures behind the wheel well so you can see--but it basically just hangs down. Removing the filter is as easy as removing the front left wheel and pulling down the wheel well cover.

Interesting how you put your cog belt on... Instead of over the top of the tensioner pully, i'ts underneath... When vortech did my install (first official G35 kit) they put it over and i've always kept it that way..

Hmm, as mine is it's very very close to the intake tube as well.. i'd say 1/8th of an inch now... scary.

I never thought about that! I'll have to look to see if mine will fit that way because as it is the cog belt is quite close to the intake. BTW, how tight is your cog belt?
