N/A and F/I options?
I am trying to decide if I am going F/I. My options are:
1. Leave the car as is. I have just about every N/A mod available short of the stroker kit. I will be adding the EVO 3.9 final drive as soon as it becomes available.
2. Vortech SC with stock internals. This means dumping the popcharger intake, and UR pulleys. Can I keep the Borla headers? I will have to go without a front strut brace unless i dump the Crawford plenum too. Crawford strut brace won't fit with SC. Total cost for parts and labor about $6,000.
3. Greddy TT (or PE) with stock internals and low boost. Have to dump same parts as SC plus headers and plenum for sure. Cost w/ extra gauges about $8,500.
4. AEBS Stroker Kit with forged internals and 11:1 compression. Big N/A power and more reliable than F/I. Cost about $10,000.
5. Go Hog Wild!!! Greddy TT with high boost AND Stroker Kit with 8.5:1 compression. Cost with tuning, gauges, ECU work, probably $20,000.
Assuming I am not made out of $$$, what do you think?

Aebs kit is more like 18 grand as you got cams and a little headwork + machine shop and lots of labor charges.( i got a quote)
then you need to rethink the aebs tt kit idea as then you are talking probably 800 whp at least with the greddy kit which would require custom fuel system giant injectors + someway to control them + huge clutch and probably need a new driveshaft + solid LSD and perhaps more bullit proof rearend and tranny and of course some massive brakes to go behind some really huge wheels and tires + well im sure you get the point the real cost of the aebs stroker kit with a TT kit on top of it and the rest of the componets to back it up would probably run 40k roughly IMHO.
I would just go with the TT kit but why do you think you need to dump the plenum ?? there are many TT kits running it and it is highly reccomended for F/I as the airflow to the #5 and 6 cylinders is much more even and reduces the risk of lean conditions in these cylinders.
I think the most bang for the dollar is the F/I route on the stock block 420-450 rwhp!!!!!
This is an 11 sec car with this kind of power properly set up right!
When you start talking about doubling or trippling the hp over stock you must consider all the other componets in the car that are designed to operate under the stock HP and TQ ratings.
So I pick #3 !!! my .02
I can keep the crawford plenum w/ Greddt TT?
Here is my current set-up. I already have cams and clutch/flywheel

They actually told me they wont build my motor for TT without the crawford plenum as the factory plenum creates to lean of conditions in the # 5 and 6 cylinders.
the factory fuel system is their worst enemy right now and are currently designing a new fuel system to support up to 25 psi of boost and 650-700 hp!
Since you allready have the cams your motor is prime for some turbos and ready to take advantage of them .
plus with the solid LSD, high flow cats, and Clutch you can have a real 400 + whp monster with a simple turbo install!!
what are you waiting for!!!!?????

Looks to me like you could get the ecu reflash for F/I and loose the headers you can keep everything else!
