Someone summarize 8psi on Greddy ?
GQ and ETX, feel free to chime in here.
What I want to know is... with all the experiences we've had so far...
From a stock kit to 8psi. Tell me what I'm missing here:
- For fuel system: Fuel pump, fuel pressure riser, fuel lines. How much should that run with labor to install at a shop ?
- For harness: A few bucks ? What's the most dependable source of these right now ? Should I hit up UR for one ? I don't really want to solder anything myself. =|
Oh, and can the coils still fry if you keep the key in "ON" or whatever ? I don't want any silly incidents...
- For tuning: How safe is it to have a shop dyno-tune this thing ? What method/approach should be used in finding someone to tune it up to 8psi ?
Is anything else needed ? Like a newer eManage software, etc ? I'd prefer not to blow my engine =)

I've been running 8 psi since March at 404 rwhp, 384 rwtq. Walbro 255lph fuel pump ($150 I think), Technosquare reflash to pull timing, control up to 380cc injectors, remove speed limiter and increase rev limiter to 7100rpm ($650 about), 440cc injectors (with kit), with custom tuning done by a professional tuner (a few hundred probably). Runs very strong with no issues other than the paper wastegate gasgets falling apart. These have since been replaced with turbonetics metal gasgets.
Yancy I dont know how the hell you did it... but you're a diamond in the rough. How did your tuner manage to get away with using the reflash for the 440 injectors ? Maybe I can call him and have someone nearby replicate this for me, cause that would rock.
dido with yancy except that I am using the 380cc injectors and droped the 440 that came with the kit. 7500 + miles on the kit and was installed early feb. tuning tuning tuning thats all I have to say. Oh make sure they know (installers) what they are doing!!!! Spaz
Also, aren't you guys both forgetting the fuel pressure riser or whatever-the-hell-else came with the PE kit that you need for the Greddy ?
It's not just the fuel pump... right ?

As far as I know, they did not install a new fuel pressure riser or whatever. I think the only thing added was the upgraded fuel pump. As you know, tuning is everything. Dan at www.godspeedinc.com is known in this area for being a master tuner of various cars and an expert with the e-manage. He did a great job with the tuning. The reflash was for the 380cc injectors. Dan used his tuning skills to adjust whatever was needed for the difference in the injector sizes using the emanage. Feel free to give him a call and ask. It might say what was done on their website. They have my Z listed as a project car.
slay, some people cars were running fine with just a Walbro 255 swap-out. Others were running too rich at idle and cruise. You always true running it with an FPR, and see how it runs. If unhappy with the results, then get the FPR (rising rate), such as the Aeromotive, and have that installed with a fuel line......also plug the stock FPR somehow.
Either way, the walbro 255 has plenty of pressure for 8psi...even without a reg...but without a reg, your fuel curve might be kinda wacky. But maybe it will be perfect too.
Give it a try!
