Knock Gauge Question
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good knock gauge? I have been looking at the following product but wanted to get some input from you guys.

knock gauge
The J&S safeguard will not only provide an indication of knock but will pull timing on the offending cylinders to CYA.
I have used an MSD knock alert in the past. It is good to know when minor knock begins. In Ca. were we get crappy 91 pump, it allows me to weed out the worst stations, the blends are not all exactly the same.

FYI the MSD device (used with personal great success on blown V8s) is at :
http://www.msdignition.com/
To use it you need to find a good block or head metal to metal location for the new sensor(s). The best arrangment is to use two transducers in a "bridged fashion" one per cylinder bank.
For J&S , (my new choice with a caveat):

The only "feature" I do not like is that for use on the VQ35 , you must diode-OR three channels together to simulate 6 cylinder operation (wasted spark method). I prefer to not burn plugs at twice the normal rate. Damn those Iriidiums get expensive
John @ J&S you really should consider improvement in this area...
Another note. Just because you have a WB A/F guage (great tool) does not de-value the use of a knock guage. Even with "safe" A/F ratios, you could still get a bad tank of gas etc. and detonate.
Since the Z/Gs have relatively noisey valve/ drivetrains, knock is not always audible /noticeable to the naked ear, especially at higher RPMs in a low gear.
