Default Highest boost on a Vortech?

Hey guys, i was wondering what the highest boost was that vortech owners are running? right now i am running the stock 8 lbs pulley and was wondering about the potential of my vortech. Who is running the highest boost? and whats the highest boost we can handle without internals?

i know Zimbo was rollin 10lbs out in a kicka## video i watched.....

i also know the vortech v2sc is good for that (and then some) before needing upgraded internals.....

anyone know how to do the 'blower math' on this pulley, if 333 = 8 and 312 = 9, then 287 = ___?

At 6800 rpm's I am at about 9.7 lbs of boost. I know of at least one other member that is at 7100 rpms. I expect he is near 10.5 lbs of boost. We are both close to stock. I have the Borla exhaust and he has the same, plus the crawford plenum and technesquare ECU. I expect we are near the max (safe) impeller speed.

I believe your weak link with the Vortech will be getting the boost much higher than 10.5. The next thing you need to worry about is your rods. BTW, if you are going to change your rods, you might as well change the rest of your internals.

Booger,

Nope no headers yet. Just Vortech, and Borla exhaust. Headers, high flow cats, and plenum will most likely be the next stage.

Just to clarify, I have the 34-tooth cog pulley. At 6600 rpms, it equates to an increase of about 1 psi (i.e. from 8psi to 9psi).

esemes,

Regarding your pulley question, seem to remember someone saying that the 2.87 pulley is 10lbs.
