What is the little black sensor on the fuel pump assembly?

Default What is the little black sensor on the fuel pump assembly?

Anyone know what that is? It almost looks like a temperature probe or something... its mounted to the bottom of the fuel pump assembly canister and has 2 wires.

I was told fuel temp sensor by someone in this forum a while ago. That's what it looks like to me as well.
