Default Hks Rotrex Supercharger

Any info on this kit other than it costing over $6000 and puts out 80 plus more rwhp?

Avalon has it listed for under $5500.

I would like to know if it handles any timing changes, what to method of fuel control will be, and if it will fit a G35 sedan. The intercooler setup and traction oil cooler setup look ideal for a G35.

I guess the only other thing would be the availability of smaller pullies to up the boost....

Hey Rayden,

Charles from CJ Motorsports is a local Chi-town HKS dealer. He could likely help you out with the particulars. I know I'm tucking away my pennies to get this under my hood! What's crazier is that my wife even said it's OK!!!

I spoke with HKS and the engine mangement that comes with their Supercharger kit does have a timing map that has been tuned for the kit.

Does the Emange with the Greddy kit also do timing?

sounds like this kit is a little more "mild" than the other kits out there...in terms of HP increase. Perhaps this kit would be safer for our engines (stock blocks/internals)???

I'm all for boost, but at this point I don't want to have to rebuild my engine if I can help it. I'm a little gun shy after hearing about some of the engine failures with the other kits.

Yes, the eManage does handle timing.

BUT the E-Manage does not come from Greddy with any timing control at all. You have to add this yourself.

If your main concern is maintaining reliability of the car while still making it faster than your typically bolt on's... than I would have to put my faith in the HKS kit. Even tho we havent seen any real world results from it yet... based on the what we do know about it, HKS' comments on its construction and goals, and their reputation... I would say it hits the nail right on the head.

If you buy the eManage alone then yes, it does not come programmed, but doesn't the GReddy TT kit come pre-programmed for the proper settings including timing? I thought that was the case.

Nope, there is no timing control with the e-manage that comes with the TT kit for the Z.

I believe you would have to add a harness and then tune it yourself. Greddy does not seem to offer support for this, so you would be on your own.

I personally think a kit without timing control is a recipe for disaster.

It is good to hear that HKS has addressed timing.

The Greddy TT E-Manage comes without timing maps. You have to make your own maps and buy the seperate ignition harness.

5.5 psi of boost does not need timing pulled out yet, especially with the size of these turbos. even on 93 octane. we just sent a TT car home to a customer running 5.5 psi and there are no signs of knock or ping what so ever. HOWEVER stock timing and a lean A/F will be a nightmare... and lean is the second you try to run even a half pound of boost more with the greddy kit.

I definetly agree with this. I'm not looking to blow my motor up, this is my daily driver.

A friend of a friend is finishing up the install of the HKS kit this weekend. He said he will let me drive it when he's done. I'll keep you guys posted.

The HKS supercharger seems to be a more mild approach to forced induction like many of you have stated. We have one in stock but have not installed it yet on any vehicle. We would be interested in selling this kit at a discounted price to see how it works out on someone's Z. It does come with the F-CON for fuel management. The Greddy kit doesn't come with ignition control but the harness is approximately $30. Please PM if anyone has any questions.

Thank you,

Greg

noone wants to dyno the HKS I guess...? I've heard all good things about the kit witht eexception of one bad comment regarding a lack of top end power.

It seems a litte over priced for the gains, compared to the competiotn. I'd still like to see a dyno though...
