Default one more vortech bov question for ya

Can i adjust the bov too far where the set screw falls out? Right now i have about 7 threads and it whistles like crazy on idle. I also find that i still get the psh psh psh when not shifting at redline. Could this still be compressor surge. Also if i do back out the screw another tread or two and it constantly whistles even more will the "es" stage 1 mod still quiet things up or will i need to do the second stage. Thanks.

I also meant to ask how thick of air filter foam you use inside the filter.

The BOV will whistle no matter what . Thats just that type of BOV. Backing the set screw out ...will make it close later and you will build boost slower . When you let off the gas it will pshhhh .Use foam about a 1/2 inch thick...do a search for esemes post about it to see how he did it

With all of the whistling probs with the Vortech BOV, has anyone considered swapping it out for a Greddy or Blitz? Would that help with the whistle?

either way, I would tighten up that nut as much as possible, while still avoiding compressor surge. That should keep you whistle it a minimum, and also avoid boost leak.
