GReddy owners / air bag sensor relocated where & how?
My Z is in the shop now and the techs are asking where and how the air bag sensor should be relocated. I know it should be mounted vertically for the sensor to operate correctly, but where did you guys install it? Anyone remember...thanks
Nobody is really sure if it will operate at all with that metal aluminum brace providing the "shock" necessary to trigger the airbag. PM 350Now if you still need help. He mounted his vertically. The greddy instructions say to mount it horizontal..which is wrong.
thanks Gus, Josh and Sharif...
We just checked the location/position of the sensor in my car and sure enough, it was mounted on the horizontal. I'm not sure it will function correctly where we're reinstalling it, and I hope I never find out. Westpak sent this pic, and this is where my shop is putting the sensor:

Looks good shep...now...can you go crash your car real quick and let us know if the airbags deploy?
I will say that when Bini2 crashed his Greddy TT in that big accident we had last month, he hit someone at about 10-15mph (front) and the bag did not deploy. But it did almost $20K in damage.

Thanks Amy, I'll send your pic over to the shop. I am assuming GReddy takes no responsibility in case someone is injured due to incorrect reinstallation of the sensor...and we seem to have a shortage of test crash dummies.
Nice bumper bar Amy...that is inspirational.
