garrett gt40
if anybody here is familiar with garrett gt series turbos, like compression maps, etc, does anybody here know if the gt40 is compatible with our engine. im working on a single turbo setup and have been told by sources that it would work but then i was told it wouldnt. i need some serious help before i dedicate a lot of effort into this project.
Would it work...yes.
Is it the best choice depends on many factors like spoolup tolerance, redline RPM(stock or 7100rpm), distance from manifolds, boost level, driving style, and especially your output goals.
You could get away with a GT30R(several), GT35R, or bigger. I'd guess a GT35R would be a great match for the 3.5L at low-to-moderate boost levels based on working with a 3L in my calculations.

There is a general guidline for GT series turbos on page 13.
