Default ATI Procharger - tuning help needed (repost)

I just got the Procharger installed on my stock 350Z but I am sure it needs tuning. The kit somes with an "EFMU" tuning box that no doubt needs some tweaking to get the car 100%. I do NOT want to blow it up!

Can anyone give me some tips for tuning the EFMU on the dyno? How well tuned it is out of the box? Is it easy to tune with compared to an S-AFC, etc? I am familiar with tuning F.I. cars, know to shoot for around 12:1, etc but I have never played with the EFMU. Do the slide controls change how rich or lean it is? Will I ever need to mess with the "scale" adjustment? Any advice would be great!

What RWHP should I expect to see?

Thanks

The dfmu is really easy to tune. Don't mess with the scaler and yes the sliders increase/decrease voltage to the fuel pump therfore makeing it richer/leaner. If you are using the preset settings then the car will be extremely rich. It will take about four pulls on the dyno to dial it in and you should expect 350-370rwhp. What are you doing about timing? Please tell me that you are doing something. If not tune it really rich as in low low 11's until then.

Mike, thanks very much for the reply! I have NO timing control in the car and running stock ATI pulley/boost. I assume you feel this is a BAD situation? What timing controller should I use?

I am going to do a dyno tune in the meantime....I guess I will mostly use the 4th and 5th slide scale to tune WOT operation?

thanks

The timing must be addressed at some point soon. I would recommend using the reflash for timing or maybe try the Safeguard but beware.
The first couple sliders aren't even used if I remember correctly. The last slider however is way up there.

Can you tell me a little more about the reflash? Another member (dynamic6er) suggested this to me and I think it is a great idea.
Is anything other than WOT timing change? Will it hurt power at all with less advance?

thanks again
