Default Vortech oil leak problem?

Hey everyone. I have a Vortech kit installed now for about 3 or 4 months now, and I have noticed that there is oil down by the blow off valve and some in the intercooler pipes right by the BOV. It’s not a lot of oil but just enough that I notice in when I tighten the belt.

Has anyone that has had the kit on for a while noticed this? You guys are always helpful.

Also just a little info. When I had the kit installed the BOV was making the brake squeal noise so we tightened it and it went away but I think I had compressor surge. I drove like that for a few weeks and then loosened it and have been living with the sound, it’s not that bad anymore. The problem is my air filter has oil on it and I think something must have happened to the blower it self like a seal or something, or it could be blow bye.

What do you guy think? Am I being paranoid?

Had the same problem... the fitting from on the T that feeds the oil to the SC is not tight enough.
Just take it back to your installer and tell them the oil feed line is leaking. Its not a big deal, just dont let it go too long.

Thanks but how do you explain the oil inside the intercooler pipe?

Ive heard this engine does has have alittle blow by . I took off the crank case breather hose going to the air filter on the SC . I put a small filter on the end of that hose . Do not run with the BOV adjustment screw to tight . Surge will wear out your SC . If your at WOT and let off the gas ans hear a flutter sound . Thats surge and is bad for the SC .Back off that adjustment screw till it stops .......Bill

I liked my test pipes until I installed DC sports headers... then I got a nice rasp at 3000rpm.
Go for the Crawford cats, TRUST me they are worth it.

As for the oil, I havent had any oil in my intercooler piping.
I have heard of some people having a little bit of oil in the BOV area.

From what you said it seems like the oil feed is leaking. When mine was leaking it was right by the BOV, which made me think it was the culprit.

Correct me if Im wrong....but if the oil feed was leaking into the blower....the bearings in side the blower would be bad . I would think its more than likely the crank case breather hose spewing a little oil out and its getting sucked into the blower and down the intercooler pipe

DZ33 said in his original post that he had oil in the area by the BOV and intercoolerpiping. When my oil feed line (at the T fitting) was leaking I had a small puddle on the plastic pan in the BOV area.

Thanks everyone. I will check the oil feed line. Also I might send the blower back to Vortech and have them check the blower it self.

Taking the blower off and sending in , is going to be time consuming and costly if you have some one else do it .I still believe its blow by from the crank case breather hose . I would disconnect the hose from the air filter and plug up the hole . Hook up a filter to the hose , or a catch can . If the oil is still there in a few weeks , then I would consider taking the blower off and sending it in
