Default Z's with F/I, What do you plan to do about...

For those who have a F/I, whether it be S/C or TT, what do you plan to do when its time to sell the car?

Will you sell it as is, or turn it back to stock?

How do you think resale value will be with a 350Z with F/I?
How bout resale value on a Z with F/I and built motor?

I know alot of you probably aren't even thinking about selling your cars yet, but I am in the process of getting a new car, and I would like to know what you would do in the future with your F/I Z if you wanted to get a different car.

I just sold my modded S14 silvia and I am looking into buying a 350Z and eventually adding F/I. My other choice is to find a MK4 supra TT 6spd with decent miles on it. The reason I am asking this question is b/c I need to think about the future and resale value of both cars modded.

thanks,
Jon

When I sell my FI (years to come), I anticipate leaving the TT on since the labor charges would just be another added cost. Unfortunately, you'll only be able to sell it privately to someone who's an automotive enthusiast. I keep all my receipts and maintenance records, so hopefully, the new owner will understand that I baby my vehicles.

Do I anticipate getting more value? Well, I would hope to think that I could add a few grand to the blue book value with all my modifications

Unless you sell to someone looking for a TT setup, these mods will lower the value of the vehicle as "normal" people are less likely to buy a modded car as they don't know exactly what has been done with it or how hard it has been driven (more likely to be driven hard if a turbo has been installed) and don't want any hassles with warranty (assuming still under warranty). May cost to get it removed, but you may actually be ahead if you sell the parts seperate from the vehicle.

I've given this a lot of thought. Since I am neck deep in almost irreversable mods, I would sell the car complete. You are correct in that you limit the market of people that would buy a car like this. But I bet there a few people in this country that can appreciate, and pay extra, for all the mods done to the car. It would be a tremendous savings to someone that plans to TT and mod out their car. If I took a fair blue book value of my car, then added 60% of the cost of mods and labor, I think that would be a resonable selling price.
