I noticed that my SC was rattling more than it has so I checked the small belt that runs the SC. It seemed like there was excess slack on the bottom side. I was able to lesson the slack by stretching the belt from the bottom then adjusting the top pulley. The rattle is gone but I did notice that there is much more whine... Can that belt be too tight?

Ive alway left about1/2 to 3/4 inches of play in it . And you should be able to turn the tentioner pulley by hand with a little effort
