Question Forged internals and ATI Procharger??

Has anyone done it yet??The procharger is HUGE as far as SC go and I am curious to see if anyone has built their motor with one yet...I am wondering how the drivability would be with 8.5:1 compression ratio and a SC spooling up...And what is the max boost that can be achieved with one??

This is a good question. Ive been saving my money and I am about 1 month away from haveing enough to put the blower on my car but I kind of want to just wait a little longer so that I can do the pistons heads cams and rods at the same time so that I can run some serious boost but its hard to wait. I just know that if I get the blower now I wont save up the money for the internal work as fast. Looking at $6,000 or $15,000. with everything man this stuff get expensive fast. I'm going to end up going with the blower by itself I just know it. I have no patience.
I saw that Grubbs infiniti helped develop the ATI procharger for the infiniti I'm wondering if they will warranty it as well since they advertise it?

We have just completed a motor a few weeks ago with 8.5:1 compression, Pauter rods, and JWT cams with a Procharger. Drives just fine with 8.5:1. Tuned it last week and made some really good power with low boost, now just need to retune with some new plugs, and more boost.

Im starting to go that route my self with the Vortech.I think with my smallest pulley , I'll make 12psi at 7,000rpm . The intercooler will be maxed out and the blower will be close .Thought about going to 9to1 or 9.5 to1 pistons....but if I decide to up the psi futher I would wish I had the 8.5to1 pistons . I guess if the low end is a dog I'll have to put up with it....Bill

On a Vortech system a nice setup for huger than 12 psi , may be 9.5:1 and Water injection. Tuning WI for a Cent SC is very simple and you gain the rough equivalent of ~3 octane pts. Just something to consider. Of course if you live up north you gotta run methanol ~50%.

What do you call good power??And what are you using for fuel management??
PS my blower is still for sale...

According to AxisWheels.com, their drift car is putting out 500hp with a Procharger, JE Pistons, Carrillo Rods with Nismo cams and headers. I wonder how much its boosting, or is that even 500hp rated at the wheels...

I've got a built motor procharger and with the intercooler I'm seeing 14psi, but in great need of a tune.

My brother just got his car back.. It has a built motor 8.5: 1 pistons and procharged.. The car make great power but is killed in the low end because of the low torque. Up top it may make mid 500s but you wont feel it till very high rpms.

To add to it . Ive got a built motor with 8.5 to 1 pistons and Nismo cams . Running 13psi with the Vortech . I feel NO loss of power because of the lower compression in the lower rpms in 1st ,2nd , or 3rd gears . Now if I was in 4th and cruising and punched it...yes there is some loss . But the tranny will down shift on its own and get me right back into the power

Last time I dynoed...was before some IC and pipe upgrades and 13psi didnt come till 6500rpm and held to redline [ belt slip ] I was at 400whp on a Mustang Dyno [440 to 460 on a DynoJet ] with a AT5 . Ive since added a bigger IC , 3 in. pipes , valve body in the tranny . Im making 13 to 13.4psi at 6000rpm and holding to redline now [ belt still slipping ] and Im going to add the smaller pulley to get to 13psi even sooner . Hope to add another 50whp to the 400whp Mustang dyno and be at or over 500whp on a DynoJet

I don't see the need of running less than 9.1 C/R with a SC setup. Usually SC's generate less heat and since the boost comes in a linear fashion it will allow u to run more boost than a Turbo would and get away with it. For example im running 11-13psi on a 10.1 C/R motor with no problems. If im going to drop the C/R i would go for 9.1 and run 16-18psi.

By the way what head unit does your ATI kit comes with? If its not at least a P-1SC i would upgrade to it.

Running 18psi at 7,100 -- built with following

Balanced & polished crank
Ceramic main bearings
Pauter rods
CP ceramic 8.5:1 pistons
ARP main & head studs / rod bolts
Ported head
JWT S1 cams & springs
JWT flywheel
ACT 6-puck clutch
Walbro 255lph pump
AAM fuel rails w/return & pressure reg
RC 550cc injectors
TechnoSquare custom ECM flash
GReddy e-Manage
AEM UEGO wideband A/F
Defi boost & fuel pressure
350 EVO throttle body
Kinetix SSV intake
Koyo radiator
NISMO headers
Testpipes
Borla dual
Titanium short shifter
And a bunch of other odds and ends

With this boost, it more than compensates for any losses due to lower compression. The engine should be able to easily handle 25psi. At high speeds, acceleration is awesome (no slouch off the line either).

Have you put it on a dyno ? Im surprised 550 injectors could handle 18psi . Im starting to get close to the max of them on 13.5 psi

With boost driven fuel pressure they seem to max above 18 -- I'm not having any injector related fuel issues. I keep an eye on fuel pressure and A/F all the time, and everything stays happy.

Where did you get your 18psi pullies and belts? Ati only offers the 14psi option. Atleast thats what I thought? My brother has the exact same setup except he has 650cc injectors.
