I wish it was on the market, or close to release.
There is a good chance to have a working version very soon. Having the boards made is another story which is the delay.

blascelles,

Does AEM intend to include the ability to make a custom VTC map, or do they plan on letting the stock ECU control it? This is a major area that has not been addressed by the aftermarket. Only the Motec M600/800 can control VTC.

I am surprised how long AEM is taking to release this EMS but once they do its going to open alot of options for the 350Z!

The emphasis has been big on 240's. So they were released before the Z. Now the Z needs engine management by more than a few, so go figure.

That is a good question. It will depend if the unit will end up being a piggyback in the end or a full stand alone.

Either way it should be a separate map.

by reading the AEM boards, i believe they are making it work like the hks fcon.. where as the EMS will take over the fuel and timing and let the stock ECU take care of the accessories. (drivebywire) You can let ANYBODY tune it, unlike hks where they make you go to an authorized dealer...

They are working on the possibility of having a user controlled VTC map.

If anyone was at D1, there was a Falken G35 with the Greddy TT kit running an EMS . The car dyno'd 349whp @ just under 5psi.

I seen the AEM stand alone on a 600whp Supra the other day . The program is awesome and able to do every thing and then some . Will be nice to have it available for the G35 and 350Z

No updates. There's a slightly more active thread about it here:

I wouldn't hold your breath. Based on private emails that I have had in the past with them there is very ... very... little progress. And by little, I mean none. Maybe they've picked up the project since then, but I think you'd see some activity from AEM on the boards about it.

I remember reading about that . Sound Perf. said AEM was letting them set it up to run like a piggyback I believe . They said it would only be sold through Sound Perf. . Nothing from them ever since

Ive heard that they have a unit that will work as long as you convert it to a traditional throttle by cable.

Sound Performance has an ATI Procharged 350z up and running and fully tuned on the AEM EMS. I am sure they will post here when they have a product that they are satisfied with and ready for sale. Good job SP!
