Default Nitrous N-tercooler kit

Hey guys just wanted some feedback on this product. If it does add the 50 HP that it claims. Will it hurt my engine like a straight shot of nitrous? Should I get this kit to go with my FMIC?

no, it just cools down your incoming air temps even more... cooler air = denser air = more power... all this does is cool down the boost... from what ive heard about this it works great, and looks amazing... please correct me if i am wrong

Not a bad price. Worth the cash for 50 HP.

It's not going to add 50hp unless you re-tune to take advantage of extra timng and/or boost to take advantage of the cooler charge.

You might get a measurble increase in power, due to the cooler an denser intake charge, and the fact that it will make your car run slightly leaner.

I like these coolers...I just dont want a heavy nitrous bottle or CO2 bottle taking up room in my already small trunk.

I thought about getting one, but I don't want to map everytime I want to use it. It would be great if you tracked your car full time, but I don't. I still might get it, it's very cheap. I wonder if you can vary the spray to keep it mild on the street meaning simulate a 50 degree ambient air, versus 30 degree day. It will not blow your car up by spraying it, but could be causing an overly lean condition. This could be offset by the timing requiring less retard. Need more opinions on this one.

Ther are a couple ways around this , but not totally cheap. Fro instance if you have a J&S safequard you can use the swithed 2/4 degree timing retard feature. Tune with the sprayer for max output and when the sprayer is disabled, switch in an extra 2-4 degrees of retard. Not a perfect coerrelation but you woull get more power from the cooler due to a more agressive timing profile and would not need to retune between street vs. track.

Personally I favor Water injection and have used it successfully before , just not on my G , yet. It is at least as effective as an intercooler CO2 sprayer and all you need is clean tap water or water/methanol in winter and the factory windsheild tank can be used.
