Default RC 550 installed Vortech G35c

Well after months of waiting for my car to be returned from the shop it’s finally back (long story). Many forum members were unsure how this would work out, let me be the first person to say it works fine. Today we ran it on the Dyno to see what she can do. Here are the official numbers:

Car: 2003.5 Coupe AT Trans

404.63 RHP
316.55 RTQ
Temp: 86.5

10.5 lb Boost @ 7200rpm

This was accomplished using the following.
1. Stock Vortech fuel system with piggy back pump
2. SS / R4 software managing fuel/ timing
3. No FMU washer reduction used

No additional management systems were used to align the rc500 injectors.

It took approximately 5 hours on the dyno to get the numbers perfect but she will flat out run. I will be posting my R4 settings on my web site for you to review.

Any idea what fuel pressure you're seeing at 10.5psi?

Even at stock 51psi, 550cc is enough for ~400whp at 80% duty cycle and SC recommended 0.55 BSFC, so if you're running the stock FMU washer, you must have pulled quite a bit of fuel with the R4. That's good thing if you're not retarding the timing though.

How does the car idle? Is it rougher than normal?

Excellent work DFW.......can anyone explain the Fuel/Air graph? Is 12(%?) a number specific to your vehicle that you do not want to exceed? What is the optimum number you want to achieve.....how did you determine that number?

Is it correct to assume that too high a percentage(?) of Fuel/Air will lead to troubles when combined with high temp, etc?

Comments appreciated....

DFW350Z...could you send me the maps so I can see the vacuum side of the fuel map . Thats what I mostly am worried about getting right . It fantastic that you got it to work , now after the rebuild I can put on the 2.87 pulley and get enough fuel . Great to see

Great numbers, I see your site shows Chrome Stock wheels, what size tires do you have on the rear? Are you having traction issues?
Also with the 5AT are you having shifting issues in auto mode?
What changes did oyu get Techon Square to perform?

Your numbers look good as well. I have stock size wheels and yes from time to time I have traction issues having over 400hp. Since my recent install of rc500 injectors and breaking the 400hp mark I am noticing small shifting issues. I plan on having the dealership look into what can be done. With your tq being higher than mine I suspect you defiantly have shifting issues?? I had TS raise the rev limiter and wide open throttle otherwise I run the LSpec base program.

Not to flame anyone here, but I don't see how anyone could say those are great numbers. He doesn't hit 400hp until almost 7000rpms. I also think he is going blow his motor reving it that high. Booger blew his motor at 6800rpm.

"I have traction issues having over 400hp". HAHAHAHAHA, sorry that is a laughable remark. You have 400hp at 6800rpms not from take off. You don't even hit 300hp until almost 5000rpms.

Sorry kid, someone had to say it.

Default LouZer – In response…

LouZer – In response…

1. I agree you need to take a pill..
2. I only run my car to 7100 for Dyno / tuning purposes otherwise in full AT mode it keeps 6800
3. I personally believe if the car is tuned correctly (Grubbs Infiniti does mine) my HP numbers are not going to blow my motor
4. With your TQ numbers I feel you are more likely to blow a motor than myself.
5. By the way on your dyno chart – what’s up with the A/F ratio? You are flat lined on 10… except in the beginning and the end??

If you review both our Dyno Charts you will notice LouZer produced almost exactly the same HP at 5000 rpm as myself ??

I know about the dip. Which is why my car is getting tuned right now. That dip is going to be gone and my A/F is going to be raised. Which will give me more HP throughout the RPM range. I only posted my chart because someone asked me to. It is not finished.

Anyway, I never said your numbers are bad. They are average. If you had the stock rev limiter in place your car may make 370 -380rwhp. People have made near that with the stock Vortech pulley. I just think it is deceiving to say you have a 400HP car. I am not trying to bash anyone, I just found it humorous that people were saying those are great numbers.

Hav fun with it and hopefully you won't blow your motor.

those dc headers do help a little but too. i had that same dip at 5000, mine was improved by adjusting timing. now i have a smooth line.

I don't think they are deceiving numbers since that’s what the dyno reads. Deceiving people would be to say I am making 400+ and not have the dyno to back it up.

Considering I have an AT I think we are close in comparison considering my AT trans eats about 5%-10% more of my hp.

Enough about this, go have fun modding your ride..

I've learned that an AT equipped car will dyno 5%-10% less hp but on the street it will actually perform the same due to the torque converter. 400hp on an AT car is AWESOME, great work DFW! That would be over 425hp in a manual tranny.
