It *can* be done in the car, but I would not recomend it and we will not do the install with the motor in the car. The extra time spent just dealing with removal of the stock headers and getting access to the exhaust manifolds for accurate torque purposes is worth the hassle of pulling the motor.

When using an engine hoist the process is actually very gentle. The turbos are not likely to be damaged in this process unless you really *drop* the motor back in and then there will be a lot more than damaged turbos to worry about. Usually a careless install will result in bent or puntured A/C lines but thats about it unless there is some catastrophic failure with the hoist.

Stock tuned APS TT ran 12.1@114 with DR's on stock internals. Thats faster than a Porsche 996 TT.

Brainstorm Performance in L.A. has done two APS TT installs already. My Roadster and Alpines's Coupe. Each one was done with the engine in the car. You're right about it being a hassle but nothing outrageous enough to warrant pulling the engine.

pulling the engine only take 2-3 hours for the experienced, but can cut off 8-10 hours of the install.

you guys are nuts. a Z06 with just intake and exhaust can run high 11's.

do not get excited thinking your gonna own a Z06... you can only beat stock ones and a lot of them that bother to race are gonna have mods... if they have a cam your done.

Same with Vipers... and mods and its not gonna happen. you know how much power those guys gain with just bolt ons?

On street tires...sorry folks...you wont stand a chance with a Viper or Z06 off the line. On drag radials or slicks, then you a much better chance.

I'd wager $100 that he's less than 3 months away from snapped rods, and a Z with snapped rods can't beat a razor scooter.

If this was true on the aps turbo kit I'd buy it in a hurry but its not true...unless you have a fully built motor then its a different story. Sorry, I guess you can dream a little

Yeah should not be a problem................look at the power and weight of the C6 and then compare that to the power and weight of the TT Z car................game over.
