I presume the authorized APS dealers will be distributing them. But at this point, nobody is distributing them...becuase they arent availible yet. Not sure when...looks like a nice unit.

Would adding the APS tallboy plenum to thier current twin turbo kit effect the stock tune? Would it effect the stock boost level?

It should flow more air, therefore I beleive it would likely lean out your current tune. A new tune would be strongly recommended.

Maybe someone from APS can tell us when they will start selling the plenum? I'd like to pick one up in blue.

Peter, you talked about the TT kit months before its release. Can you give us some details on the progress of the plenum and maybe some idea of improvements in performance your testing has produced thus far?

We were told today that the plenums should be ready about the same time as the next run of turbo kits. This should be in February. We are taking pre orders for the turbo kits and plenums now....PM for details.

Sorry guys the Tall Boy APS plenum project is running behind schedule as we have been working on a new design which will incorporate 6 additional injectors for high powered VQ 35 Twin Turbo engines.

The APS plenum will be available in March 05 if all goes to plan and the main benefit will be more equal air distribution to all 6 cylinders.............a must have item for high powered Z engines with FI.

March? Ouch...

I don't think I can wait that long.. I understand thou. A good quality product is not designed overnight.

Thanks for the update.

March is a hugh dissapointment. In fact, it looks like your "best case scenario" has the release date for March 2005. What is the "worst case scenario?" May, July, Nov of 2005?

I'm sure the plenum will be great and all, but from a marketing stand point I think you're shooting yourself in the foot with a March release date. In essence, you will have effectively missed the winter season for many many people that build/work on their cars during those cold months so that their cars are ready for the spring.

Take the advice for what its worth, (this is only my 2 cents) but maybe you should reevaluate your project manager and the progress, or lack thereof, in just getting this job done. I thought the initial release date was for sometime in November of 2004?

The market demand that currently exists (and will only intensify in the next several months while people are building their engines) will not wait for a supply from APS. I've got to beleive that the demand will go to other sources.

Sorry if I sound like a dick, but if it were my business I would be all over the project manager because his delay may have just cost me a piece of the market.

Actually, I think APS has got it figured out, i.e., its better to release an excellent product late than a so-so product early. Case in point, the GReddy & PE turbo kits and the numerous aftermarket plenums that keeep having revisions done.

That being said, it is equally true that when left up to an engineering department, almost no product would ever come to market due to the nature of engineers ;-)

Yeah you're not the only one disappointed and I believe that March 05 is now the real time for the release of the APS plenum, I wish it could be earlier though I very much doubt it will be.

The cause of the plenum being delayed is the redesign of the plenum to incorporate the 6 aux injectors for the APS big fuel system, this engineering has to be completed before final tooling for the APS plenum can be produced.

Unfortunately at times we need to consider a number of aspects when designing new components (particularly when the component is used for a number of different applications) and this can and does impact on the release date.

I'm confident that the wait for the APS plenum will be worthwhile and again my apologies for the delay.

Thanks

Peter

Argh, this is disappointing. I called StrictlyZ as soon as I heard they were an authorized dealer and he said that it would be SEMA for the release. Doh! At least these fuel injector ports should be able to take a NOS NOSzle. Muhahaha.
