i love that intercooler, its so original. Why do they use that coil looking tubes that connect the filter to the compressor? Why not hard pipes? Arn't they going to bounce around everywhere? And also wheres the MAF?

The hoses are actually a specific part that that is very tough and allows for a great deal of flexibility (the engine moves a fair way when under torque) and the air cleaners are firmly mounted on the body. The hoses themselves are not visible.

The MAF is located on the stainless steel duct to the throttle body - just above the blow off valve in the picture below.

Hope this helps.

What is the maximum potential power of these turbos on a built motor?

I'm sure you will Lorca!

To answer the question, the primary components to making power are air and fuel. To that end, APS delivers turbochargers in the base APS TT system that have an airflow capacity to produce 800 hp. The fuel system included in the base APS TT system has flow capacity to produce 600 hp. The upgraded APS fuel system (to be released in the near future) has flow capacity to produce 900 hp.

Now, how you use that air and fuel is up to you, your engine builder and your tuner.

Yes, air and fuel are good. Even better when there's lots of it

It is a work of art and the exhaust looks amazing as well. Can't wait to see the Tall Boy plenum with 6 additional injectors for 900HP

Can you clarify if the numbers you are quoting are wheel hp or crank hp?

With the size turbos you are using, it's unlikely you can efficiently blow 900whp worth of air...unless I am missing something.

I always read it to be crank hp based on my knowledge of the fuel setup and the turbos being used.

I got to poke and prod the APS system installed on Rob's Z at Z-car in SJ yesterday and the pictures don't do it justice . It's a really complete setup.

Just to add to the thread, I spent alot of time talking to Peter and Doug at APS, and was extremely impressed with their knowledge and background. Without letting the cat out of the bag, the new fuel system they are designing will be light years ahead of anything that is availble currently. They have taken a comprehrnsive approach to this, just as they have with thier TT kit.

Expect big numbers from their complete system on a built motor. It looks like their ECU control is has similarities to the Motec.

If you are referring to the Unichip, then it's similarities to the Motec system are limited to the fact that they both go in cars.

Hey chris, I remember you from my days over at s2ki. You still building that ridiculously fast S2000? I've seen you posting here lately. Thinking about a project Z?

Yeah, I am going for like 700-800 rear wheel and then I am thinking about selling it. The current build up should be capable of about 530 rwhp on pump gas... I am kind of getting tired of it now, but I have such a huge investment in money and time. I just purchased a 350z so thats why I started posting here
