Question Conservative Boost out-of-the-box question

Please respond if you have any sort of working F/I knowledge.

How conservative are the boost levels generated by the out-of-the-box units? That is, I'd like to get my hands on an F/I unit (APS comes to mind). But I don't have the time/money to build up the motor, nor am I looking to bleed every last bit of HP out of the motor/blower/turbo.

Put it this way, I'd like to add boost to my daily driven 350Z. Are there units reliable enough out of the box that I can get installed without dedicated tuning and without extensive upgrades to the stock motor?

You'd probably like the Stillen blower. Not huge HP gains but has been reliable and safe out of the box. Even comes with a 3 year warranty on your engine I believe.

Look up 2003Z. He is a member here and over at www.350Zfrenzy.com He has one and can answer any questions.

The JWT kit should be in consideration too. They haven't released it yet but they are saying it will be 400hp to the crank which is around 330hp to the wheels I believe. JWT is well respected and their kit will more than likely be top notch and reliable.

I would have considered Stillen, but I am not big on the hood mod/replacement.

Would someone care to rate the current F/I units by reliability? I would like to see someone breakdown the pros and cons of each F/I units available.
