Default What's important?

To increase the safety margin of the APS (or any for that matter) TT kit, what is needed outside of the kit and gauges? Mostly concerned with the motor: rods, pistons...

If you got the extra money a J&S safeguard can add another level of safety from detonation damage., for example you get a bad tank of gas, the J&S can dial back timing (per-cylinder) in response to detected knock . The Unichip can't do this and the OEM ECM can't dial out enough timing to protect you from FI and a bad tank of gas.

Also run the best gas you can afford and have access to. If you can get 94 don't run 91 etc.

Also run a good synthetic motor oil. I favor Royal Purple , Redline or Amsoil. Change on short <5k intervals.
