Default Flowmaster series 80 muffler

Hello all,
I was wondering what you all thought about using a series 80 flowmaster muffler (42583) for my exhaust. I have read numerous posts here that describe a good sound, but I cannot find a sound byte of it with our engine. I am looking to change the stock tone to something deeper and more aggressive, but not too loud. There is sound byte for a 3.8l firebird
http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/cg...ter/42583.html

I would like performance gains, but it is not my primary concern. I have spoken with Flowmaster and they said there would be a little gain, but to make sure I use 2" tubing out of the muffler to keep some backpressure for torque. I have also looked at the magna flow, but I have not seen any great posts on it. Not sure I want to do the entire catback $$, was more or less looking for a change in sound by just replacing the muffler. Any suggestions?

Default flowmaster

I changed to this muffler just after I got the car 2 yrs ago and very happy with the tone. I took out the resinator and it made the tone more raspy. I also cut off the tips of the stock unit and had them weld back on to the Flowmaster. I think you'll like the sound if you get it. Beware it will be louder inside and out.

I love my flowmaster.

I put on the Nismo CAI and Flowmaster 80 series.
Dyno put me at 300HP.

287HP stock with 6HP for the Cold air = 293HP with 7hp for the
Flowmaster. Not a bad performance mod for $100.00.
And the sound is awesome compared to stock.

Compared to Stillen or Borla?
Hands down Flowmaster and save $600.00.

Good Luck
