Out of curiousity, how difficult was it to install that gullwing kit? Was it expensive? Do the doors have ample support???

It's hard to say how difficult it was to install the lambo/vertical doors. I had it installed by the body shop that does all of the work on my car. The Vertical Doors Inc Kit claims to be 100% bolt-on and only take about 4 hours to install.... that is bogus. I believe it took over a day (between 8 and 12 hours) for my guys to install... figure about $500 for installation (for quality work). Also, they had to "roll" my fenders a bit and also cut into the door panel to allow for clearance for when the doors swing up. By no means is it a quick, "easy" and painless install. The kit itself ran about $1300, plus the labor... so it almost reached $2K. The door has decent support, although on rainy, wet, or "dewy" days, the door does not stay up as easily because of added weight on the door. I'll probably have to go back into my body shop and have the door strut tightened a bit to alleviate this issue. Also, you might want to note that it isn't very comfortable or the easiest thing to do to get in and out of the car with these doors. It is sometimes hard to open and lift the door up from the inside, especially after you've had a long, hard workout or have played countless hours of basketball or volleyball - good luck getting that door propped up if you are sore or have a tweaked back. Also, good luck getting a decent-sized box in and out of the car.
All in all, besides everything that I've stated, I still love my vertical doors and I wouldn't change them out for anything. They are by far the #1 item on my car that gets the most attention and comments (mostly positive, in fact).
Actually, if you attend any of the G35 meets in So Cal, then I can show you my Skyline in person. You can check the doors for yourself and see what you think.
Hope this helps...
