Default Forum Closure: G35

The G35 sections/forums of MY350Z.COM will close down starting the new year. We are working closely with G35Driver.com (the largest online forum for the G35) to expand and provide better content.

The G35 link will still stand on the forum index but will redirect you to G35Driver.com.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you - NOT!!!!!!

I was a big supporter of the G35 Forums when you got the idea and started it here. I am also a member of g35driver, and it's not my350z.com, it's just NOT! I've tried other forums (like when you were going thru your server problems) but, for content, knowledge and etc. there's not better place on the web for the "Z" and the "G".

I'm very very sorry to see this happen.

I guess I was so angry when I wrote my first response, I forgot to ask how do the sponsors feel about this change? You'd think with the "G" guys going away, that means less potential paying customers.

The more I think about it, the more this move makes absolutely no darn sense. Did we get in you way or what

Default I'll still visit both sites

I'll still visit both sites even if you get rid of the G35 forum here.

There are just so many more Z owners that this site gets a lot more posts and much of what goes on here is relevant to my G.

I mainly like the classified and the wheels sections.

Most G posts I saw here had common threads at G35driver.com so I don't think we'll be missing that much.

I'll miss the G35 section here, but if it doesn't pay the bills I guess it won't kill me if it's gone.

I like having the G35 forum here but IMO its not that big of a deal. I am sure that this site will still be "G" friendly and you will still have access to all the great technical info. This is first and foremost a 350Z website and I respect that. I will still hang out here more than the G35 sites just because of the wealth of information.

One question though - Are G35 related topics still going to be allowed in other forums? For example, posting pics of new wheels on a G35 in the wheels/tires/brakes/suspension forum.

g35driver is a waste of time!!! i have all but stopped visiting it because there is practically no technical knowledge to be gained. it is a good site to learn about what kind of car covers and wax to use on your car. BS!!!

i am sure that this change will be padding your pockets, however.

what a horrible decision.

There's plenty of G35 guys here . The Z and G are alot alike and G35driver is a dead forum . And will continue to die further now that you have to pay to get full use . The sponsors over there are not getting there money's worth at all

Sometimes I dont get people..

G35Driver is not a Pay for use only forum.
Where do people get that information?

The main purpose is to expand upon what both sites have to offer.

At the same time no-one here is telling you guys to go away from my350z..

when the site was down a month ago, the temporary screen specifically noted that g35driver would be going the route of a pay site. there were even prices listed.

Thats what I read also...so I guess if they werent going to charge people to get full use of the site ..WHY did they post it saying so ? If you run the site then you set up the temporary page and posted the info on it . Thats not our fault is it ?

No one really gets full use of a site unless they are the ones that put it together...

What things members can do on the site now pretty much stay the same..

Your talking about the premier membership. and its something that is going to be optional.

I'm going to echo the sentiments of most of the posts in this thread, I think that removing the G35 forum on this site is a bad move. Personally, I like this forum better than G35driver. I like the setup, layout, etc. etc. I almost never visit G35driver!!! I frequent this site more than any of the other G35 sites. If our opinion matters to the owner of this website, please do not remove this forum.

GodZilla

You have a vested interest here. Point of Fact - g35driver just doesn't have, nor never will have the content that is available here. I don't know what kind of deal you have worked out with the owners of my350z, but this move is not going to help either site out. People will not be happy with my350z for this move, nor happy with g35driver (StricklyZ) for this change. You see, in America, it's all about choices. I choose my350z, if they don't chose me, so be it.

However, one fact remains, pay site or no, the content, important word there (CONTENT) is just not up to the caliber of this site. Heck, IMO, nothing on the web can match the bredth of knowledge available here. Kicking us out, and directing us to your site, accomplishes nothing positive. As I have said before, I was and still am a member there. I visit it frequently. How much longer that will last, I don't know at this point. Right now, my emotions tell me to heck with both sites. But, I don't want to bite off my nose to spite my face. I guess, I'll just have too see what transpires.
