Default Skyline + GTR

hey guys... just wondering cause i've had way too much time lately. When the GTR comes here in 2007 will it also bear the skyline name? Because heres my next question-- since our car is technically the skyline in japan what will happen to the g35? wil it be up for a redesign?

The GT-R will no longer be called the Skyline GT-R. It will just be called the GT-R from what Nissan is stating. They want to separate this car from the rest of the Nissan line. Makes it easier for them to charge 80K for the car if the car looks totally different from what the Skyline/G35 looks like at the time.

There is a forum dedicated for these types of threads. There should be plenty of information there.

actually there is a high chance the GTR will go back to the Skyline line up in Japan

they only said the break up when the first gen V35 skyline sedan (250GT and 300GT) was failing in Japan back in 2001.

in 2002 with the 350GT8 and the coupe, the V35 has become more successful. most of it due to the fact the success of the Infiniti G35 here in north america

but anywhere outside of Japan, its probably called Infiniti GTR (NA) or Nissan GTR (europe), the Skyline name is more well known in japan then the Fairlady Z
