You're gonna make the switch over to the G world! Why don't you just get the Z fix.

As far as I know, there hasn't been a confirmed case of feathering on the G35. Most of the problems regarding the G have been:

1. paint chipping
2. rattles
3. low brake pad/tire life
4. low mpg

You should read g35driver.com and freshalloy.com forums for details.

There are some feathering that I've heard of. Nowhere near that for the Z, but it is still there.

Default Traded Z...for G

I had a 2003 Performance model 350Z - ordered in early '02 and took delivery in Sept. 02. I owned this Z for almost 2 years and although it was great fun to drive, I too got tired of the tire feathering problems (Nissan replaced 2 sets of tires for me) as well as the rough ride for a daily driver. I know - sports car but it just didn't work for me as my only vehicle. So - in Aug '04 I traded it in on an '04 G35C. Am I happy? YES! G35C has the power of the Z but the ride is much better and I haven't experienced any problems (knock on wood). I'm at 8k and am really happy with the switch. I got a 5AT so I do miss the 6MT I had with the Z but an ok tradeoff. Overall, the G is a bit more sedate car but with excellent power and enough sporty looks to still turn heads like my 350Z did!

Ken

Note: Can't seem to get rid of my Z pics though or Z info - guess I need to do that since I've had the G for over 6 months now.

1) definitely get a clear bra
2) less rattles with 20's
3) brake dust really sucks so get Hawks
4) my mpg is pretty good
Get the G!

I didn't say I had these problems, just restating the many threads that show up on g35driver.

One of the first things I did was get a clear bra. Haven't had problems with rattles (don't buy 1st year of a new model). Haven't had problems with my Brembo's yet. Had to get new tires with my Nismo rims, so can't comment on tire life. Get 19+ MPG daily, so can't complain about that either :P

Does Infiniti replace pads for free on the '05 G's?

I thought that was only for the '03 and '04 AT G coupes and only for 36K or 3 years, whichever comes first.

I think Infiniti only warreties AT brake only. That is the only bad thing for us Brembo Owners. The only thing i would complain about the G is the paint chips.

Not necessarily true...
I had the best clear bra protection possible on my Z (Fr bumper, fenders, mirrors, door edges) and I still got paint chips. Just not as bad as ppl w/o clear bra.

I'm almost in the same boat: selling Z, waiting a few months to pay off some bills, then buying either a: G35C or BMW 530i. Obviously I know more about the Infiniti, but I need to find out more details.

I want to buy a used, low miles (less than 20K miles) model with AT. I hate stop-n-go traffic and will let my girl drive it on occasion.

Does the Brembos only come on the 6spd?
Did the Brembos only come on the 03s & 04s?

I read about the navigation and seem to like it. Which package is it on or is it just an upgrade option?

Thanks for all your help.

Gary

Iv read that the brembos are outta the G35 & not coming back, due to its low life alot infiniti was getting alot of complaints so they changed them to ordinary brakes, it sucks I know.
as for the navigational system I think its an option..

peACE.

This is Exactly why i bought my G35c over the 350z Track...
