What Are The (+/-) In A 3 Piece Over A 2 Piece Rim?
I Have A Set Of Iforged Daytona On Order(3 Piece Rim) 20's. Im Thinking About Go To A 2 Piece, So I Was Just Wondering What Are The Positives & Negatives In A 3 Piece Over A 2 Piece Rim.. I Know Weight & Price. Is There Any Other?

back in the day, when wheels were made out of steel, a three piece was lighter, because the barrel was steel, and the face could be made out of aluminum. since wheels now are made out of aluminum, there really is no advantage, unless you plan to run a magnesium face. i have 2 piece iforged wheels, and i made damn sure that they looked exactly like the 3 piece that i saw. i have never regretted going with a 2 piece. the two piece and three piece should weigh the same, because they are made out of, essentially, the same quantity of material.
additionally, since it is so hard to mount tires on iforged wheels, due to the reverse barrel design, many tire shops will have to use high pressure to seat the beads. this high pressure can easily damage the o-rings or gaskets that seal the two halves of the barrel on a three piece wheel.
i guess the only advantage would be that you could replace the outer lip if you damaged it badly, instead of getting a whole new rim.
hope that helps, save yourself some money.
