sorry to hi jack a thread ... but Randy ... on the front bumper project... are you going to remove the bumper brace ? i to am going to cumstom a front bumper ...i really dont want to remove it ... i was able to get one with the gialla grill already ... so i might do a little something with that

 

I can't access Driver at all...whatever...as far as the bumper project goes...no, I shouldn't have to remove the front bumper. I am spec'ing it so the top opening of the new air dam is right below the main brace. This is where the Vortech/Spearco IC is anyway. No need to make the opening any bigger than necessary. So, ultimately, the new opening will be a little taller than the current openings on either side of the front bumper now...it's hard to explain, but when I have pics, I'll post...BACK TO TOPIC.

 

im using just a steel bar in place of the aluminum bumper brace, wild350z used it on his 350z. he made 2 brackets and took a piece of heavy steel tubing and bent it to match the bumper, he also made a towhook piece he welded to it, he said it was strong enough to lift his car with the towhook. now i just have a bar about an inch wide in front of the intercooler instead of the aluminum bumper. i can send you some pics.
