has any one raced a 04 against an 05? I know the 05 has 20hp more but is it a noticable difference? I have a Z tube and K/N drop box filter so hp bumps my 04 up around 290ish. I know the 03/04 shifter is more pricise than the 05 slight advantage.

i've driven an 05... some what the same.. very different pedal feel if any.. i perfer the stiffer 03-04... (hehe i just noticed thsi was a g35 post.. IGNORE ME

but it also has 10 pounds less of tourque and weighs more...

i just test drove a brand new 05' g35 coupe last thursday. the salesguy was trying to tell me that they did make a lot of mods to the transmission and suspension over the 04s. also i guess we all know, no more brembos. he said infiniti got a lot of complaints as to how the brembos clamped too hard for the daily driver.
now i haven't driven an 03 or 04 so I can't really compare. just relaying what was said.

 

if their is a difference, it is definately not noticible. I test drove an 05 and bought an 04

 

I doubt you'd seriously feel 20hp. Maybe after driving the cars for a LONG time, then driving the other you might.

I test drove an 03 sedan auto and coupe manual back to back. I couldn't tell a difference in acceleration.
