Co-worker got a ticket (147 mph)
2- lane road in his G35C, and said it was a $250 fine, suspended 30 days jail time, and loss of his license for 1 year. Must be one nice *** judge! He said he passed the cop doing 147 mph and didnt realize it was a cop until it was too late. Cop did a U-turn and thats all she wrote. Cop only wrote him, didn't take him in!

What I've learned about speeding.
Treat every other vehicle on the road as an unmarked police car. The minute you stop doing it, every car turns out to actually be an unmarked police car.

It was 1 am when he got caught, his radar did not go on but the cop said he used instant on and tagged him.
Co-worker said he wanted to see how fast he could get it up to and it was the first and last time he tried it,

Sounds like the G35 guy slowed down when he saw the cop and let him catch up.
That was LIGHT. I was doin 93 in a 70. Muthaphuckin $300.
I would have taken an exit and a few side roads and stopped somewhere.
Rethinkin: I would not do 147 on the public highway.
My 1SG has a sayin that he tells us every morning...
"Do the right thing, no one can touch you."

If there was any turn off at all, I would have started making every turn I could find. Agree'd I would never try to "outrun" a cop, but when he is going the other direction and you have 147 on him, I think it's worth a few back roads turns.
So he really lost his license for a year?! Does he get to drive to work?

Oh, and PS - at that speed you're putting roughly 220 feet a second on the police officer. That means in the 10 seconds it took him to stop, turn around, and get moving you put 0.416 miles on him already. I can NOT see a car's tag with my high beams on from 2200 feet away. He had to have slowed down, continue doing ~150 for about an exit or two (depending on how close the exits are, the 2nd might be the better choice). C'mon, he's doing ~2.5 miles a minute, don't slow down next time.
