in all seriousness, if you happen to have that kind of money at that age, please do not buy a new sports car. do you know how long you could go travelling around the world with that kind of money? i would suggest you wait and do that . afterwards, if you really still want a sports car, then save up and buy one at that time.

Now that's a dream coming true tomorrow, or sometime this week/month . . . . . . yeah sorta.
As for the OP, get the Z. It looks so much sleeker, more stylish, and overall just screams "I'm young, love me!!!"
the G is more for like . . . . . . the elderly IMO.
There are like 90584543908690 threads of "g35 vs 350z" and they all have the same ending.
Yet im still stupid enough to reply...
If you have enough cash get a G; 350z's start much lower than a G35
There are many people claiming you dont need the extra 2 seats because your 17, but how do they know that for a fact? I bearly turned 18 and 50% of my driving time is with additional friends in the vehicle.
Dont worry about [old] people flaming you because your getting a great car at a young age.
This is still a really dumb question though. Its up to your taste of style, so you shouldnt be asking us.
PS. Wait nevermind, get a 350Z, we dont need anymore G35's out there. I want my G35 to be unique!

You are refereing to the old IS300's. My friend also had gone through 2 of those and when the IS 350's came out he picked one up very quickly. It is quite fast, and faster than a Z or a G35. However, once I am back in the states, I personally have a 2006 G35 manual coupe waiting for me to pick it up (had to order from the factory for my set of options). The cost for me ended up being roughly the same as his IS350, but I prefer more sport with my luxury. And granted, he will take me on the straights, but the G35 gives a much better feel for the road and handling is better.
A clip from Motortrend as well when they were comparing the IS350 to a BMW and Mercedes:
Burdening each one of its 306 horsepower with just 11.7 pounds, the IS was the quickest to 60 (5.2 seconds) and through the quarter mile (13.8 at 102.9 mph), and it felt every bit as brawny in the real world, where editorial assistant Scott Mortara exclaimed, "The power is awesome! Enough to reel in the others on a straight."

And most importantly, on topic once again:
As far as which to get, I would say if you have the money, go test drive them both. If the salesman honestly thinks you are serious and responsible enough, many of them will let you take a loaner out for several hours to get a really good feel. One person is going to notice the slight performance edge of the Z while another is going to like the upgraded luxury more.

working 3 jobs and you are going to buy a Z or G??. how many jobs would you need to work if you got a more affordable car? I'm not trying to hate or anything I just know too many teenagers who only had to buy a car so they could get to work so they could make money to buy a car...
