What gives with our cars?
My procharger is off at ATI getting fixed, so here's the mods...
TurboXS UTEC + Map switch (dynoing on 91 premium at 5300' altitude)
Crawford plenum
Helix TB spacer (not plenum spacer, TB spacer)
Intake
Stillen SS Headers
Stillen True-dual exhaust (stock cats)
That's it.
228rwhp and 219tq. 102 degrees out...that was the best of 8 runs when tuning my UTEC for N/A with a pretty agressive tune. Why are these numbers so low? The dyno place was telling me that typically 350z's in stock form make about this amount of power. What's wrong?

SAE... That's flat out what it got at the wheels on a dynojet. I'll post the dyno sheet here shortly.

Those mods you listed aren't worth alot of hp. A tuned UTEC should net you a little extra hp, but overall not alot. Mods you listed at your altitude on a 102 degree day=what you pulled. Take it back when it is about 75 degrees and you should see the hp increase you are thinking you should make.
Just my 2 cents, been down the heavily modded road before.

Ok. Thanks. Other mods (while ATI is repairing the procharger) planned are JWT clutch/flywheel, UR pulley, HKS DLI, and Crawford cats.
Something's wrong... numbers are too low.
FWIW, the baseline, untuned pull was like 208hp/199tq

Where did you get dynoed? Also who did your tune? I've dynoed at 249 & 236 SEA corrected at Mac w/ PopCharger, UR Crank Pulley, Motordyne 5/16th Spacer, & APS 2.5" TP. My Base line was 232 & 226. I can't view your dyno shet but I have a feeling that your posting uncorrected numbers.

Nick at MAC did the install of UTEC and tune. Uncorrected was like 173hp or thereabouts... He knows his shiznit, and agreed that maybe my procharger had taken it's toll on the engine. (i.e. low compression)
Really??? Nick does know his shyt. He is one of two tuners I'm considering to tune my Z when I return. It just doesn't sound right. What do stock G35 dyno at? Hopefully we can figure this out and get some hp out of your car.

I think he did it in 3rd for most of them, and then a 4th gear under heavy load at the very end. DOH... Nick should know better. He's installed 50+ UTEC's and tuned every single one of them on 350Z's... I was their 1st G though.
The reason Nick dynos in 3rd & 4th gear is... If you dyno in 5th it takes longer to go from 2k rpm to redline. This in turns warms the engine up more and warm engine losses power. We acually test this theory and there is a mild lost when dynoing in 5th & 6th gear.

...but a 5th gear pull would be more accurate, correct?
