Default 350z intakes on G35?

I was wondering if any intake from a 350z will fit on my 06g35 6 speed? Someone told me that 350z intakes dont fit at all, which was an injen and a aem? Is this true? thanks

Kenny

Any intake that isn't CAI should fit with no problem. Since people use the stock Z-tube all the time with no problems. However there might be a difference in placement of the filter in CAI applications.

Only problem I see is this thing in the middle of the stock intake tube - has some sort of piping out the bottom. May have to toss the cover (no loss), watch the hood clearance, too - tight.

Only function I have heard for this box halfway up the intake is some sort of resonator or sound dampening box, just hearsay, no idea what it really is for.

Yeah that thing is worthless, I just put my Z-tube in today it fits perfectly. So like I said, any 350Z intake will work with a G35, if you go CAI there is a resonater below the stock airbox you'd need to remove.

thanks, my Z did not have anything like that so I was scratching my head figuring out why they would put anything in the middle of an intake

smooth out the sound of the popcharger. Certainly much better imo.

I just added a Z-tube to my Stillen high-flow intake (HAI). I also have a Stillen dual cat-back exhaust. These 3 bolt-ons, according to my butt-dyno, have really made my sedan come alive. I have better acceleration, especially under part-throttle. The z-tube has no resonator chambers in it, but it's very quiet at idle and low throttle. You hear a nice, satisfying growl at part-throttle. It positively roars at WOT. Since my muffler is Stillen's Gen I version, this car is pretty loud under WOT, especially if I drive under a bridge. But if I'm out on the highway, there's not too much noise in the cabin, and I can mitigate all of that with the stereo volume ****.

My main concern is if a injen cai can fit onto my 06 g35 coupe? I was going to do an awsome trade for a bov and this intake but he indicated it would not work? what do you think? thanks

Pics under the hood? Like to see the Stillen installed, how that works with the stock pieces. Sounds like a good setup.

Thx

Where would it not work? Tube length and angle should be close if not the same, only diff I can see is there is more adjustment in the stock setup with the AI because of the flexy tube at the end.

What does he say?

am using 350Z Nismo Intake (same as AEM) it fits perfect on my 04 G35 Coupe without any modification at all.

P.S. check with every Shop they list the same P/N for both Z`s and G`s.
