Default My car was baptised today by covina police department.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well let me start off by saying that my weekend sucked ballz, cuz my hatch wont start after swapping the motor. I have to check all the electrical. but anyways.

I'm coming home from work today on foothill blvd, in covina Right as you pass azusa pacific university, there is this long curve on foothill. Well I guess during the curve I got on the gas. For those of you that know the area (its by the taco bell, kfc, arby's)

Apparently there was a covina p.d. at the Arby's restraunt. I don't remember going that fast, but in this car the speed goes up kinda fast with out too much effort. Well I make a right on citrus ave, and I think I go about 2 lights where I pass a camero ss, I just noticed this car out of everyone else for some reason. I changed lanes in the middle of the intersection to get past him. Well right after that I notice a cop car about two cars back. Well the two idiots in front of him move over so that the cop isn't behind them. So he pulls up behind me at the next light. I feel it coming so I take off slow, (I didn't want him to hear the hks exhaust.) As I take off the he throws on the blue and red lights. I pull over right away. take off my seatbelt, turn off the car, turn off the radio, and pull my wallet out.

He comes over and asks for my id,insurance, and registration. I'm looking for my id, and cant' find it. I have 2 of them in my wallet. My old one with my old address (it has a hole punched into it by the dmv) So i give him that one, tell him I just moved and left my other id out of my wallet. He asked for regristration, and I reach for the sticker on the window. He says that fine and doesn't make me take it off. He asks if I have insurance and say yes and open the glove box.

This is where my day got better.
Him: "He asked do you know why i pulled you over"
Me: "Cuz I change lanes in the intersection" (and had a confused look on my
face"
Him: "No its cuz you passed by kinda quick by Arby's then picked up more
speed. You were moving along to 50 - 60 mph before you let off....
How long have you had this car"
Me: "I just got it."
Him : "Look I'm gonna do something for you. Now I know this is a new car for
you. I'm gonna run your license and check that its good."

So I watch him go to his car and call in the license. He comes back and say "Look, everything is ok with the license, now I'm gonna let you off with a warning. This car is new to you, and I know you have to get used to the power of the car. It's very nice and you should be careful out there. You were picking up speed fast. These cars should not be taken lightly and that they are pretty quick." then he asks if the car was stock.

I pause for a second and almost let him know about the exhaust, but I say just the cf hood and rims. He says its a very nice car and then says to keep it under control cause the sound made by the car's exhaust is going to attract alot of attention . I thank him to letting me off and I apologize. He says be careful again.

on a side note. I have the status autodesign plates and my window sticker says I got the car like 3 months ago, I have the plates but just haven't put them on. Not in a big rush to do it. When I was taking off he waited for me to go, i guess to hear the car take off ...

I am releved to say the least. this kinda made my week so far. even with all the bad stuff that has happened so far.

From the back you car clearly see the dual exhaust canisters. and he thought they were stock

overall he was a very nice and pleasant cop (I haven't ran into too many of those.)

I usually always encouter nice cops its real easy to make them not be an *** here is the ticket:

You know they are gonna ask so always have your license, insurance and registration in hand and ready to go by the time they get there.

If you were doing something wrong, admit it dont lie.

I have been asked about mods as well, you must lie about this, if they ask the answer is always: what you see is what I have done to this car.

I have been pulled over more times than I can count for all kinds of things like wreckless driving, even been blockaded one time, speeding, mods, just about everything. You just have to honest, respectful, and admit to what you were doing, most of the time they will let you go. I have a perfect record.

Just don't admit to it if you plan to fight it in court. Although the ticket isn't admissible as testimony, cops often take notes and can testify as to what you told them.

I've been let off once! But I did get a big break on a test drive, doing 75 in a 25, he could have easily thrown me in jail for that, he dropped the ticket to a 49 in a 25 so I didn't get hit with a reckless driving.

At first I was mad, but after thinking about it, he really did give me a break.

^^ not so much, cuz I've notice that these cars pick up pretty quick without to much effort. In my civic, when you punched it and speed up it was very noticable. The car would rattle and shake, its different you can just feel the car speeding up. In the G35 I can punch it and the car rides very smooth. Like if I'm going 25 somewhere in 3rd gear, and push harder on the peddle the car gets to 50-60 mphs without to much road noise or anything. Thats just what I've notice.

Like my friend was telling me yesterday. That I drive crazy punching it from light to light. Funny thing is I don't even try to do that. The car just wants to be drivin fast...wierd

I had a similar incident happen to me about two weeks ago only I was doing about 80mph in a 40mph. I looked in my rear view mirror and there was the po po coming real fast with his lights on. I pulled over immediately and as soon as he walked up to my window I gave him my license, registration, and inusrcance card. He ask me if I knew how fast I was going and I told him honestly I wasn't paying attention, but I know it was faster than the speed limit. He then asked me if my license was good and I said yes. Then he said he was just going to give me a warning and told me stop driving like an ****. I said thanks and have a nice day.
