wow... lots of hate on this car... i think its a great idea... nissan could use a full size coupe in there line up... the only coupe they've had in a long time is the Z.... none since the 240 and 200 sx's.....

I think this is a bad move by Nissan/Infiniti because it will make the G35 coupe looks like a rebadge Altima coupe. They are making the same mistake they did before (rebadge nissan to sell as infiniti)
Instead, I think they should have put a smaller engine like a 2.5 V6 which has about 200 hp into the G35 coupe and lower the price. This will attract way more gas conscious buyers or buyers with smaller budget and this will help sell more G35 while maintain it's reputation.
just my 2 cents

they're just going back to the well. the z and g were such a big success, they're trying to milk every penny out of it. pretty soon, all their cars will look like some kind of z/g baztard child.

nissan made this car because altima is the highest selling nissan and the g35 is the highest selling infiniti so they just merged the ideas together to see what happens. in no way shape or form is the altima coupe in the same sentence as the Z or G. even if they have the same engine there is a little thing engineers do for each engine called tuning. the Z engine is tuned for performance but the altima coupe isn't thats y the new Z engine gets out around 315hp n almost 270tq but the same engine in the altima coupe gets out about 270hp. and there is more to a car then just the engine.
you can compare it to driving a bmw 325 n then driving an M3. there's no comparison. or better yet the new 335i and the upcoming M3 they are close when u look at the numbers but they are completely different cars for different purposes n different drivers. for starters the new M3 will be the only bmw that doesn't have it's suspention tuned for run-flats which makes a big difference. it comes with good old performance tires, new suspention, and a beefy nicely tuned performance V-8 pushin out 400hp+ sick looking car. i plan on it being my future car but i wanna get my Z this summer 1st.
Hope i shed some light on the situation. just my 5 cents lol

wow it really does look like a G........ mannn that really pisses me off... z's and g's have such a unique look and now ppl are going to mistake a g or z for an altima couple.... i mean its a nice car and everything but still..

2.5 is 170 or 175. I think the car looks great. Yeah it may closely resemble the other cars but those are what is selling so why not hop into the game. I think it has many features of the Z and G and that they did a dang good job coming up with it. They only thing is I think that it doesn't resemble the Altima at all so it really isn't an Altima. It is kind of like calling the Maxima the 4 door Z.
I think a 2008 Altima SE-R would be hot!

Thanks nissan for making all your vehicles look the same. Thanks for giving the styling cues that made the z/g unique and putting it on the Murano. Thanks for taking our driver console layout and putting it in the Maxima. Thanks for making an Altima with the Z/G roofline so that the non-car geeks can look at the Z and see Just Another Nissan. Thanks for killing what made our car's look unique.
