Mind boggling isn't it?

No reason to complain, I'm well aware of the heratige of the Infiniti brand.
They may call it a Skyline in Japan, but as far as I am concerned the GTR should be a Nissan.

Can you handle that?

The GTR is going to be a Nissan...

If you're talking about the GT-R...that's a different story. The Infiniti G35 is the Nissan Skyline in Japan...not the Nissan Skyline GT-R. They're two different things.

For the last time:

Skyline != GT-R
G35 == Skyline 350GT

I'm surprised by people who call themselves Nissan fans and know nothing about the history of the Skyline and the Skyline GT-R. Just like there is a WRX and a WRX STi there used to be a Skyline and Skyline GT-R. And stop misspelling Infiniti!

What a gay thread. This issue should've been laid to rest back in '03 when the car 1st came out.

There's nothing to debate here. Skyline = JDM G35. G35 = USDM Skyline. That's all there is to it.

First of all, It's not a matter of opinion or personal preference. Its a matter of FACTS.

The G35 is known as the Nissan Skyline 350GT in JAPAN.

So many ignorant people believe that in order for a vehicle to a be a Skyline, it has to be a GTR.

Second, anyone who posts such stupid threads should be banned, or atleast charged for the waste of memory space used.

The Infiniti G35 is a nissan, take apart anything on the interior and it will have a nissan skew and a nissan logo... Even the little covers on for the slider on your seat. Go pop it off and look, sorry to say it but its a nissan

All I gotta say is you have a right to put a Skyline badge on your Infiniti, and if you do just finish the job and put the Nissan badge on it as well. Might not get your brother's middle-aged wife ***** anymore, though.

Who cares? Dude, the OP can't even spell.
A disgrace? Have you seen some of the Skylines that were sold before the V35?
Obviously not. The GT-R was a very special version meant to help sell the more pedestrian Skylines. It's called marketing. More of a BMW 6 series copy than anything else.
That being said, I don't think the R32/33 or 34 really looked like a sports car as they are big old sedans. The cache was that the car performed so well.

The V35 Skyline 350GT is a better looking design, albeit one that doesn't perform as well as the far more expensive R34 Skyline "GT-R"
Hell, I'll go so far as to say that the V35 Skyline is one of the few really nice looking from front tow hook to rear exhaust tip Nissans ever built. I'd go so far as to say it's one of the best looking Japanese designs in general.

At the end of the day, I don't understand why somebody would rebadge their car to match the JDM product.

From one Z enthusiast to another. It's a full blood skyline, like it or not. It's like saying a Taurus is not a Taurus because it's not a SHO. lol

Yup. And just like the V35 Skyline is not a GT-R, there is even a down-scale 4-banger Skyline with the QR25 Engine in the same chassis - a 2.5 I-4 engine, a Skyline Coupe we don't see here (good thing IMHO), must be for the gas mileage - or just price.

or, check out your Skyline Sedan - aka 2007 G35/V36

Same reason people in Japan rebadge with Infiniti badges, or why Nissan rebadges the V35 here as an Infiniti? G35 is a dumb name IMHO, GT350 would have been better.

LOL!!!

I saw a meet pic in Japan where there were about a dozen decked out V35's with Infiniti everything! Now that's IRONIC.

wow, some of you guys are friggin ignorant. think of it this way.

mustang = skyline

mustang GT500 = skyline GT-R

you cant just drop the name off a V6 mustang since its not a beast like the GT500.

Wow, you must be really ticked that the V37 SKYLINE (aka 2008 G35 Coupe) can beat the snot out of a current 350Z with the VQHR 3.7 liter engine until they get around to launching a new Z for 2009 model year.

What's the worse disgrace - having to live with the fact that the stock G-Coupe available in Q3 of this year will be faster than the 350Z by leaps and bounds, or the fact that it's sold as a V37 SKYLINE in Japan?

Hell, even the V36 Skyline Sedan (aka 2007 G35 Sport Sedan 6 MT) throws down Z-like numbers stock, and that has 4 doors and a big-*** trunk.

Must be hard to be you, living in such a state of disgrace

LOL!

Nice try, probably too logical - some people will just never get this!
