I bought a 07 G35 Sedan yesterday and am picking it up on Wednesday. Had a question on the extended warranty since I have until Wednesday to decide and let the dealership know. They quoted me $2,050 for a 7-year/100K mile/$100 deductable warranty. I tried to get them down in price and the best they will do is $1,900. When I bought the one for my Z they started out at $2,300 and I got them down to $900. Are most of you out there taking the extended warranty? What kind of price did you pay for the extended warranty?

 

I payed 700 for mine. I however got a 100k bumper to bumper warranty, 50 dollar deductible i think (after 36k miles, for non powertrain)

 

Check Consumer Reports for the straight-skinny on extended warranty.

 

Plumpzz - did you talk them down to that price you paid? If so, what price did they start out at?

 

I got mine for $6k under retail blue book and extended warranty free , used 2003 3 months ago.

 

The only reason you'd have to decide so soon is if you want to include the extended warranty purchase as part of your auto purchase (i.e. pay for it as part of your monthly note if borrowing to purchase). You should be able to purchase the warranty afterwards from some other provider and I would think even from Infiniti (may be wrong here).

Also, the G35 standard drivetrain warranty is 6yr/70,000 mile and basic warranty is 4yr/60,000 miles. You aren't getting a lot with the extended warranty. I wouldn't pay $2000 for it.

 

When I picked up the car today and paid for it they disclosed to me that I have six months to buy the warranty before the price starts going up. I'm going to do some shopping around and find the best deal because in the end as long as it's the Infiniti warranty then they have to honor it.
