V35
Production sedan: 2001-2006
coupe: 2001-present
Body style(s) 4-door sedan
2-door coupe
Engine(s) 2.5 L VQ25DD V6
3.0 L VQ30DD V6
3.5 L VQ35DE V6
2002 Skyline 300GT V35The 11th generation (V35) Nissan Skyline, introduced in June 2001, is based on Nissan's FM platform, which is shared with the 350Z. The Nissan Skyline uses a front-midship engine (VQ35DE), rear-wheel drive layout (all-wheel drive is available for the sedan) to achieve a 52%/48% weight distribution. The V35 also marks the first generation of Skyline made for export to the United States. There it is sold under the company's luxury brand, Infiniti, as the Infiniti G35.
The V35 marks a major turning point for the Skyline. There is no straight 6, no turbo variant, and no GT-R variant. Nissan put a slightly more powerful VQ35DE in the 350Z, and although the Skyline & the 350Z share the same platform, the 350Z has additional bracing, underbody aero parts, and weighs 100 kg less.[11] Keiichi Tsuchiya said of the V35 "This is a Cefiro!". Most Japanese tuners have studiously ignored the V35 Skyline, the 2006 Tsukuba Super Lap Battle had not a single V35 entrant.[12] Tuners such as Mines, Amuse, Hosaka, Garage Defend, M Speed, Nagisa, MCR, HKS, & Top Secret continue developing R32-R34 GT-Rs. Top Secret did tune a V35, but they replaced the VQ35DE with a VK45DE V8 Twin Turbo.[13] Signal USA entered a V35 in Formula D, replacing the VQ35DE with an SR20DET.[14] In contrast, US shops such as Relentless Autosports have had success with forced induction VQ35DEs as seen in their track footage. Sites such as 6MT.net, G35Frenzy.com, and G35Driver.com have increased the popularity of tuned V35s

Why Nissan badges on an Infiniti? Cuz it's a Nissan!
God bless 'em if they overlook status-luxury badging for the North American market. I kind of see it as "down to earth"
And why do some NSX owners rebadge their NSX from Acura to Honda?? Because they can and because it's a motherfuggin Honda!!!
It's not the same as rebadging a Cavalier to a Toyota people, wake up.

Nissan found in the Z's case americans found fairlady to be too feminine for a sports car so they named it by displacment. infiniti is a luxury brand and letters are popular for brands like that. also I think many people only associate skyline's with GT-R and it makes it hard for them to see a skyline badge on a G
now i wouldnt do it because of a you cant switch out the infiniti interior logos so it would be mix match and im picky

I gotta side with the haters on this topic. In fact, this weekend I plan on breaking out the angle grinder, dremel, and heat gun, and I'm gonna strip my G down to individual pieces so I can remove the Nissan and hamburger logo stampings from all the parts. Then I'll get a giant INFINITI windshield sticker, and an equally huge Infiniti logo for the back window. To completely cover up the dirty little secret (and my shame) that Infiniti is simply a North American marketing division of Nissan and doesn't actually produce any vehicles themselves, I'll fabricate a new vehicle data plate that says "INFINITI MOTOR CO., LTD", along with emissions info stickers, warning labels, manuals...I could probably go into business selling these parts!!! USDM forever!!!

Don't get me wrong, my Z wasn't sooo bad if I could overlook the inadequate stock brakes, crappy stereo, tire feathering/cupping, 4 alignments in 10k miles, seat rocking TSB problem, bogus stock rubber, wheels that look like the belong on an Altima, seriously cheesy interior - oh, the the compression rod replacement TSB, porking weight for a 2-seater (100 lbs less than a G Coupe with 2 less seats???) - it really was pretty decent for the $$$, if you could overlook the massive depreciation compared to a G Coupe (0.45 value vs. 0.68 value after 2 years), the 2% higher interest rate Nissan Financing charged over Infiniti - no big.
Realistically most of those things were fixed at least the first time under warranty and the rest, well, nothing that about $10k in upgrades could'nt fix. Or, alternatively, a $10k better car.
Sorry, you left the door wide open...
