500 Horsepower AWD G37 and G37 Convertible in 2009.
Sorry if this a repost. Did a search. Did not find this thread.
http://www.topspeed.com/cars/infinit...e-ar39487.html
"The G37 Convertible will be build on the FM (Front Mid-ship) platform, which has been stiffened 36% from the previous generation, is lower in overall height and has a wider front and rear track width.
Also there are rumors that Infiniti is working on a more powerful version of the G37: an all-wheel drive, twin-turbocharged version that will have an output of 500 hp. This mean that the 2009 G37 will be even more powerful like a GT-R. So, it will reach at least a top speed of 185 mph and the 0 to 60 mph sprint will be made in less than 4 seconds.
Like the Coupe, the Convertible version will be offered in three different versions: standard, Journey and Sport. The most powerful, and of course the most expensive will be the the Sport version. It will feature 19" wheels, Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD), sport-tuned suspension, sport brakes, unique front fascia and side sills, sport-styled seats and steering wheel stitching."

do you really think that they are going to make another car that competes with the GTR? AWD, Twin Turbo, in the 500hp range? That speculation is probably someone being confused and mixing up the new G37 and the GTR. The new G37 is not even released yet (is it?) and if it is, it is a week or two old. I seriously doubt they have plans for a new version one year later...

yes.
- and you will choose it over the GTR so you can get your car serviced by Infiniti and not Nissan.

I've been talking about a turbo version of the G37 far before it was ever released... in fact prior to the concept pics... I've posted here and on driver...
It's common sense to me... that's why I would never get an 08 G37 - it's the guinea pig to work bugs out prior to putting a factory turbo in it.
No, I don’t have viable "inside info" it just seems too logical. Having a Nissan GTR an Infiniti N/A G37 makes absolutely no sense. Besides, Infiniti would loose so much of the market to competitors if they didn’t step up with a turbo version.
Say what you want about Nissan/Infiniti engineering and marketing, but they aren’t that stupid.

If the current G37 is 3770 lbs, then adding AWD and a twin turbo kit...say hello to at least 4000 lbs, probably 4100 lbs not to mention cars just get heavier and heavier each year from misc things anyway.
It would probably a really nice car and a blast to drive, but I don't see it being steller with handling
