Those pesky G37 taillights

For me the LED pattern on the V36 Coupes are pretty slick looking. I like the way the inner brake lights aren't complete circles. It makes the car look angry when they're lit up. However what I still can't get over is the shape of the taillight unit itself. I don't like how the top portion swoops up and then drops off so sharply at the edges.

The Sedan lights (like the 1st gen V35 cars) swoop up and then angle back downward as they wrap around the side of the car making for a much smoother looking taillight cluster out back.

V35 Coupe rear lights for reference:

What also doesn't work out back on the V36 Coupe is the chrome lip. It works on the Sedan but not on the Coupe IMO. And the rear deck is still a bit too curvy for my tastes. Funny as I find the headlights on the Coupe more attractive than the units on my Sedan as they're edgier and more sharply creased yet Nissan/Infiniti decided to make the azz end more rounded. Go figure.

These are all minor differences. Toyota copied some of Nissan's styling - no biggie - imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?
I like the old G35 coupe styling slightly better than the new. I like the new G35 sedan a whole lot better than the old. So overall, I think Infiniti's made changes that bring the sedan styling up to par with the coupe. All are very good looking vehicles (well w/ the exception of the pre-05 sedans
