g35 coupe or 4dr or 350z? help me decide!
1) I want performance
2) I want pleasing aesthetics
3) I want luxury interior
Anyone have experience with the G35 coupe/G35 4dr? It seems the 4dr prices are much cheeper then coupe.. I was considering a 350z but I also like the luxury aspect of G35.. i test drove automatic and hated it though.

Also, what is your plan for your new ride.
-If you plan on going F/I, I say the Z, since it's ligther
-If not, the G coupe ( luxury interior)
Also think about kids, if you have any possibility having some in the near future.
Alot of people have kids, than end up selling there Z.

just depends. The z will tend to get small after a while but if you have another car than id go for the Z. The z def does not have the luxury interior BUT it has the upgradeable power but so does th G with some added weight
your opinion is what matters in the end

I owned an 04 350Z Enthusiast with a buttload of mods, so I'm not hatin' on it.

G37...I had a Z. I like the 37 better overall. My only complaint is the styling could be a tad bit more agressive. They tuned it back from the g35 IMO. They do look 5x's better dropped just an inch, too.

So, a dealership sold me a car rigged to explode
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Footnotes:
I bought a 350Z from Lynnwood Honda less then 48 hours ago (1/2/08),
I was driving in traffic last night (1/3/08) and the revs drop and the car dies out.
My 350Z (2003) eventually starts after sitting for 20 minutes and I drive to the nearest dealership, higher revs the car is fine but the idle is sputtering and ready to die out.
RESULTS:
Nissan tech says the car had no air filter and they believe it sucked something into the engine and bent a valve.
Honda authorized payment for nissan to diagnose it further and check if indeed there is a bent valve (3 hours of labour)
They say my warranty does not cover this sort of issue due to neglect & Honda's sales manager claims, "nothing leaves this dealership without an air filter"

Some people like the 2005+ interior better, I can take it or leave it. The 298 "rev-up" (+18hp) hp is BS, I've seen it on dynos more than once - it fails to reach the same peak hp as my '04 did stock, and it gutted the midrange torque and hp. Car gained 100 lbs, too, and about another 100 lbs the year after that.
Second choice would be a 2007/2008 G35 Sedan. Given that you can pick up the first one for ~$20k with low mileage, Brembos, 6MT leather premium package+XM, Aero kit, all option, I kind of have to question wth you'd be getting other than yes, the new sedan is faster, tighter steering rack, and well, it's NEW!
Find a really good condition 2004 G35 Coupe loaded with options that has had the gas tank recall done, any TSB's addressed, and save yourself $15,000 IMHO.
Then again, I'm biased...I had a 350Z, I have a G Coupe, have driven the new sedan, and unless that was a near clone of my 3400 lb '04 Coupe, no thanks. The G37 is way too heavy, and has too much of its impressive power only up top. 3700-3800 lbs is a bit much for a "Sport Coupe".

IMHO when the only really significant screw-up by far in the interior was the driver's seat controls placement, which never got fixed in the G35 Coupe - that wonderful newer interior has them in the same damn place.
Don't get me started on the interior of my '03 350Z, it's a good thing I could really have cared less about most of it, that's not much of a factor in why I bought the car...or I would not have purchased a Base model.
I tend to look at functional shortcomings in the interior, like chopping inches of headroom and legroom off the backseat passengers in the G37. I routinely carry 3 people in my G Coupe on family trips, my teens or my wife are just fine with the room in the back, but if you took away 2" of legroom, it would be cramped. It is about as small as it can get and still be pretty useful.
Interiors can be pretty subjective...I like mine just fine, but I've heard the scathing criticisms from teutonic **** bmw-lovers, or Acura fanatics, etc.

What are your long term plans for it? If you just want a ton of performance, then I'd say Z, otherwise the G. You have the 2+2 which is nice if you ever need it, you have a nicer interior IMO, and I actually like the way the G coupe looks more then the G which I didn't think until I actually bought one, i guess its just grown on me.
