Is a G35c as fun to drive as a 350Z?

i got an 07 g35 4 door with tiptronic trans to drive for a few days while they prepared my manual 05 z for me, after buying it. I thought the g35 was very nice inside and fast. I can see someone buying that vehicle over the same year z.
My experience with the coupe is limited to an 05 and it was lacking in power in my opinion. Also you have to search hard (in my area) for one with the upgrades like sports package etc. just my $.02

Both are great cars. It really all comes down to your priorities. I got the 06 G35 Coupe because it was a good blend of everything I wanted. (I could care less about the backseats, and I never have a use for them).
The 2006 G35 Coupe 6MT, which has the sports suspension, feels just like an [06] 350Z. But you can still feel the extra ~150 lbs on the G35 Coupe, although I can't complain due to the extra ammenities.
I've never driven a G35 Coupe without the sport suspension, so I can't judge the way it rides.
Goodluck.

I own a 06Z and test drove a 07Gc that one of my friend owns. The G does feel nice and comfy. When speeding up, it feels about the same. same engine noise. Same shifting feels. However, cornering feel is different though, The G just don't feel as sure footed as the Z when it comes to cornering feel. It wobbles more than it did with the Z and maybe weight plays a role in this.
I try not to be bias, but I own a Z so who knows.
Btw. The 06 Oil problem? I got that, WCN was able to help me out and got me a new motor. my car has being running great with no problem ever since.
Big Thanks to the WCN folks especially Jeff

I have driven both and my opinion is mostly subjective. (04 Z vs 05 G)
The G feels like it sits higher off the ground with the driver sitting more upright, where as in the Z you're strapped in low.
The G35 is quieter in a straight line but when it launches it feels like the engine is working more to move that mass. You get more of that engine note.
The Z feels a little stronger from a launch. Maybe it has something to do with the wheels closer behind you. (shorter wheel base). All and all, the cars feel similar on the highway as far as throttle response goes.
Cornering is where both cars are a little different. G kind of glides it's way into a corner, and seems to really apply the extra mass on the four wheels. You really feel a shift coming in and out of the corner. "Head then tail follows"
The Z feels tighter, stiffer and a little more tossable. You feel as if you can throw the car in the corner and hang the tail out. The rotation is there.
This is where I prefer the Z more, but then again the base model I have is pretty light.
The G is a nicer more supple ride, but if I wanted that I would have went with a four-door bmw or something with ample space in back. Just my opinion.

I own an '08 6MT sport sedan and I'm very impressed with the performance of the car. It has sneaky straight line power with that high rev band and hooks up very well from a dig. The tranny and clutch are really excellent. The one thing I found peculiar when researching the infiniti cars (I'm a former vette owner that needed a fun 4-door) is the fact the g35 sedan weighs 3532lb and the g37 coupe weighs 3668lb. And I'm not surprised, the sedan feels very nimble. I think this is a wonderful car for the price and a real sleeper down on main street.

My friend has a 2006 350Z (Grand Touring) and it's awesome! Car has all the gadgets you can think of. I just picked up a '06 G35C M6 yesterday. It has everything that the 350 has + sunroof and rear seats . If you race on the track all the time, buy a 350... otherwise G35 is perfect to give you an adrenaline rush when you need it!
Both cars are head turners. It really comes down to whether you need the rear seats or not. And if you can't live without a sunroof, then buy a G35

the difference is if you want either SPORT or you want LUXURY!
with sport comes some Pro's and some Con's
with luxury comes some Pro's and some Con's
EX: 2 seater/ 4 seater
hatch/trunk
roof/sun roof
it's basically the same damn engine. .if you want a 4 door go with the maxima!!!

And +1 on the interior. I was dead set on getting a G coupe, until I sat in one. The interior just didn't work for me in terms of styling. It was the tan interior though, so perhaps charcoal would look better? Right then and there I knew I wanted back in a Z (so I bought an '07 Z ) Lucky that I went with the Z and don't have to deal with the OC issue.
