Just Picked up a G35 Sedan and Love It!
So as some of you no I've been trying to ditch the Z for quite sometime now. I finally sucked it up today and just took it in to an infiniti dealership and traded it in. I'm now rolling in an 05 G35 Sedan! I love this thing. Its not as fast as the Z but man is it smooth. It feels like riding in my boss' S430 benz almost. Anyone got any links where someone did a nav/audio install on one that looks clean? from what i understand you can't really put an aftermarket headunit in these without alot of extra $$$

Welcome to the club. I have had my 05 for 2 months now and i love it. Gas mileage sucks (even compared to my thirsty modified Z) but it is a treat to drive daily.
I decided to keep my stock 17's on mine as the ride is very nice and the tires are CHEAP! If i change down the road, i really like the M45s wheels.
As far as nav, there have been several people selling the OEM 05 Nav over on g35driver. I dont know how hard the swap is. Really the only other option is the JDM OEM Double din kit.

Also, I've seen all the 05 oem nav setups for sale on g35 driver and am aware of most of my aftermarket options but I've heard that its really tricky (more so than a z or any other regular car) and that you can end up losing your AC. Any word on this?

Mine is a 5AT and so far in my 8 or so tanks, i have gotten 17,19,18,20,17,20,18,20 mpg per tank. I drive about 25 miles round trip per weekday and then it varies on the weekend. 2/3 of my driving is city.
It does get better gas mileage when i accelerate moderately. When i go easy on it, it gets worse. My blazer is the same way.

You would be surprised. The 05 G35 Sedan is fast. It has the REV-UP engine, do a Motordyne MREV2 swap on it, and it will beat a stock 350z 03-06. It is the lightest of the bunch too. In some cases it weighs less than the 350z did.
You can put a aftermarket unit in it. www.g35driver.com has the info, JDM Radio Benzel is what you need.
I had a 05 G35 Sedan 6mt as well. I got around 21 city and 28-29 highway with it on average.

Are you sure the 5AT has the rev up? I figured it would've been like my 05 Z in which the 5AT's came with the standard 287hp motor

ok and so i guess the intake tube tube and exhaust restrict that other 7 hp? I ordered a k&n drop in filter last night to throw in there hoping on getting a little gas mileage boost. Anyone know what i can expect in terms of gas mileage with a K&N?

So I've been noticing that everytime the car has been sitting for a while and i start it up and get moving, right at the begining there is a strange sound that comes from the front drivers side part of the car. It might even be coming from the wheel area. It's almost like a sort of short creaking sound (best description i got) and it only happens once and then its like whatever it is is popped into place or something and it doesn't do it anymore until the next time the car has sat for a while. Any ideas?
