I am planning a club day at to run the road course at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson Texas. I am looking to set up a day in either March or April next year. It will be limited to 20 to 32 people. The format will be 2 25-minute lead and follow sessions. For these there is no passing and there has to be maintained a certain distance between the cars. If one car starts to catch up with another, they are flagged and their positions are switched. There will be instructors available to ride along. For these, no helmets are required and passengers are free to ride along. There will be a classroom session break. Then there will be 2 on-track competition sessions. Drivers will be split into 2 groups based on experience. They wil be required to use helmets and no passengers. They can pass only on the 2 straights. The price that is set from Motorsports Ranch is $95 a person for the full day including insurance. Since I race regularly, I already have a helmet. I will try to barrow additional helmets from SCCA or ER to use during the event. Otherwise, helmets are available for rental at $10 for the day from MSR.

I am putting this on the list to find out how many would be interested in doing this and if there is a preferred weekend in that time frame everyone would like. We may also make this in conjuction with the club meeting and hav ethe meeting at MSR in the morning before the driving event. This would be planned for a Saturday and the driving portion would be in the afternoon.

im not a G35 owner - i would most likely be racing my 84 CRX - but anyways im intrested. March 13? Im out on Spring break. I love the G35 coupe, one of the best looking cars out there. Ive also got a freind with a 350Z Roadster, ill tell them about it. Thanks

 

Sorry, but right now this is for G owners only. If we don't fill, I do plan on extending it to the Z club.

Well if i have a G by then im in. But as of now i have no G so no go. But i have been to MSR in a BMWCCA event and it was awesome.

P.S.- what about sedan Gs?

 

It will be open for all G35s, but the signup will be through the G35 owners' club of DFW. That means you need to be a member. Fortunately, membership is free.
